New format of IT communication

In June 2025, we plan to reform the IT industry, which will affect both sales of services to the population and traffic generation on towers. The industry indicators have not been updated for a very long time, although the parameters of generation and sales were planned to change constantly for normal operation, and now the time for change has come.

Firstly, mobile communications are switching to a new format – 3G!
To provide services, significantly more traffic will be required, now under the conditions of a 2.5G network, the data transfer rate is approximately equal to 136 kbps, while the speed of about 3.5 Mbps is planned for the new standard.

Secondly, it is planned to reduce the bonus to the throughput of towers depending on the quality of the equipment. Now the bonus is 15% for each point of equipment quality, in 5 weeks the bonus will be reduced to 10%, which will distribute traffic sales more evenly and significantly reduce the amount of generated traffic.

Owners of towers with better equipment will still have a noticeable advantage in the market, but it will be slightly reduced. Note that the function of the amount and capacity of traffic has a power dependence, so the absolute values ​​of production will change very much. But in the current conditions, most of the generated traffic remains unused due to a very significant bonus, so for some towers these changes will go completely unnoticed.

The planned changes will take place within 5 weeks:
– June 5: speed 1 Mbit/s, bonus on towers – 14%
– June 12: speed 1.5 Mbit/s, bonus on towers – 13%
– June 19: speed 2 Mbit/s, bonus on towers – 12%
– June 26: speed 2.5 Mbit/s, bonus on towers – 11%
– July 3: speed 3.5 Mbit/s, bonus on towers – 10%

In the future, based on the results of the analysis of the changes made, it is planned (possibly) to switch to the 4G communication format with speeds up to 25 Mbit/s and further reduce the bonus to 5%. These changes are planned for the end of the year.
