Virtonomics is a realistic economy simulation.


Virtonomics is unlike any other economics simulation you have ever played. It’s not just another casual tycoon game about growing cucumbers on a virtual farm :) It’s quite difficult to get started, but an intense, addictive game that many players keep playing for years. We try to strike a difficult balance between realism and playability, depth and clarity, and usefulness and fascination. Put in a little effort at the beginning to learn the basics of the game, and you won’t be able to stop playing for years!

Turn-based business simulation.


This means that the entire business simulation game consists of a series of rounds. During each round, you make various management decisions and take the actions necessary to grow your business. For example, you buy goods and equipment, hire and train employees, set prices for your product, launch advertising campaigns, research new technologies, create or buy new enterprises, and so on. In some cases, you will see the results of your actions immediately (e.g. purchasing equipment or hiring employees), in other cases, the results will become visible in the next round, after an “update” of the game situation. Each game round lasts 1 day. Therefore, you can enter the business simulation at any time during the day that is convenient for you, without having to worry about missing important events.

Game situation update.


Each round ends with a process of updating the game situation, during which the game server calculates the actions and transactions of all players, calculates their results, and updates the state of the virtual economy. The game situation is updated once a day, it always starts at the same time, and usually takes about 1-2 hours. The timer shows the time left until the end of the current round and the start of the process of updating the game situation. After the update is completed, the next round immediately begins.

All new generation products replace outdated analogs. Each product will be manufactured at a separate plant (previously, all semi-finished products in this update were produced at a single Chemical Plant; now, each product will have its own type).

Please note that the previously created Household Chemicals Plant (2nd Generation) has been renamed to Paint and Varnish Plant. The name Household Chemicals Plant (2nd Generation) is used for the new plant in the current update.  

 

A gradual phase-out procedure will be launched for 1st generation retail products, including the closure of retail markets (launching on December 25th), the removal of production specializations, and a ban on the construction of plant types (estimated for February 26th), followed by the liquidation of remaining inventory (a rather distant prospect).

Materials and semi-finished products from 1st generation will remain unchanged, as they are widely used in other production specializations.

Additionally, a new specialization for Hairdressing Equipment using 2nd generation Hair Dryers will be launched on January 26th.

 

Measures will also be taken to liquidate retired first-wave products (Cars, etc.), as well as 1st generation electronics. The package of measures will include the liquidation of these factories and the purchase of goods at average cost. Details will be announced separately.

Secondly, it is planned to reduce the bonus to the throughput of towers depending on the quality of the equipment. Now the bonus is 15% for each point of equipment quality, in 5 weeks the bonus will be reduced to 10%, which will distribute traffic sales more evenly and significantly reduce the amount of generated traffic.

Owners of towers with better equipment will still have a noticeable advantage in the market, but it will be slightly reduced. Note that the function of the amount and capacity of traffic has a power dependence, so the absolute values ​​of production will change very much. But in the current conditions, most of the generated traffic remains unused due to a very significant bonus, so for some towers these changes will go completely unnoticed.

The planned changes will take place within 5 weeks:
– June 5: speed 1 Mbit/s, bonus on towers – 14%
– June 12: speed 1.5 Mbit/s, bonus on towers – 13%
– June 19: speed 2 Mbit/s, bonus on towers – 12%
– June 26: speed 2.5 Mbit/s, bonus on towers – 11%
– July 3: speed 3.5 Mbit/s, bonus on towers – 10%

In the future, based on the results of the analysis of the changes made, it is planned (possibly) to switch to the 4G communication format with speeds up to 25 Mbit/s and further reduce the bonus to 5%. These changes are planned for the end of the year.

On January 27, we are launching the functionality that players requested in their suggestions for improving our game functionality – automatic renewal of boosters.

The mechanism of the functionality is simple and clear – in the booster management or installation window, you need to mark the desired auto-renewal position. This function can also be managed from the Group Boosters Management.

Please note that for boosters whose cost is nominated in virtual money terms, auto-renewal is automatically set upon installation. For boosters whose cost is specified in the GP, auto-renewal is canceled by default.

At the same time, we are announcing a change in the cost of boosters in the near future:

  • from February 3, the cost of installation and maintenance at Livestock Farms (increase by 20 times), Laboratories (increase by 50 times), Stores (increase by 10 times), Warehouses (increase by 20 times), Factories (increase by 20 times) will change.
  • from February 10, deductions for political boosters (10 times) and regional bonuses (10 times) in Villas will increase.

The cost changes will only affect Boosters nominated in game currency. The cost of Boosters for game points remains unchanged.
