Blog Requirements
- Minimum of 2 messages per week with screenshots from the game (uploaded to a place where they will be stored forever, like google pics or something).
- Using key words in every blog's post such as: Virtonomics, online game, browser game, games for learning economics/economy, economic simulation game, Tycoon game, turn-based online browser strategy, etc.
- Using links to Virtonomics main page, forum and pages in the game. Some links may (and better be) referral
- Good language, connection to real economy and recent news, connecting between Virtonomics and real economy theories, etc.
- Valuable and interesting information. You blog should be interesting to read. People should learn new things from your posts and discover game deeper. You can talk about new things in game, post news, political events, goals and achievements.
The ideal blog would be about starting a new company and starting playing from the bottom scratch. The best way to do so is to start a new company in a different realm and try to win all contests, do all quests and take everything from the game what it can give to a new player. You should play with 100% effort and do everything possible to impress new people and to show that success is quite possible without big donation if you do smart things.
You should teach player about game's rules, mechanic, principals and tricks. You should encourage them to play in team.
You can even make new corporation of bloggers and start playing together, this would be awesome ).
Give people links to forum guides and tutorials, show examples, etc.
All these is not obligatory (but what i previously said is preferable to get good marks for you blog). You can also make your blog about your current and developed company but in this case it would be nice if you going to set up specific goals to achieve for limited time (1-4 months). Make 5-10 goals, 5 long term (3-4 month) and 5 short term (1-2 month).
Also you can come up with some totally different new idea about you blog and ask me here, if this is a good one. For example the great blog would be - Virtonomics Newspaper, where you will write about what is happening in the game, make reports and predictions, collect and analyze game's data, etc.
1. Choose what your blog will be about. If you not sure yet, ask in this topic.
2. Choose a blog platform from the list above.
3. Start writing
4. Leave the link to your blog in this topic so other people can see it, read and comment your messages.
Determining winners
- Number of messages is a key factor. Minimum is just 2 posts per week but you can do 5-7 and more, as long as quality of each message stays good.
- Following basic Blog Requirements
- Size of you posts. Long post are preferable if they have good quality
- Connection with social network (twitter/ Facebook/Google +) is an advantage. So you made new post in your blog, share it (or give link to it) in your social pages. If you doing that, don't forget to let us know you social page address.
- Number of visitors and traffic. It is very hard to make your blog popular for 4 month but you should deferentially try. Give links to your blog in different places, tell your friends (and people in Virtonomcis) about it. If you can make your blog a bit popular with natural traffic after 4 month - this is a major factor which going to determine a winner on 3rd stage. You should provide a screenshot with statistic to prove your success.
- Comments. It is good if you blog will have valuable comments. That is why we reccoment to play this competition together, so all people who doing blogs will help each other and leave comments
- On the first stage of competitions the main advantage have people who follow the basic Blog Requirements. For the second stage the most important factor us length and number of posts (with following the basic Blog Requirements and with good quality of posts). For the last stage all factors are taking into account.
100 friends
Virtonomics has very nice referral reward program called "100 friends". http://virtonomics.com/mary/main/common/main_page/income/friends
Each player has his personal link and if someone register in the game by clicking on this link, player may get additional income. It can be hard to attract a person who will bring a lot of income to you but it is possible. This competitions fits perfectly with 100 friends complain. When you leave links to Virtonomics in your blog, make sure to make them referral links. For example my link is http://virtonomics.com/vera/income/1053029
You can find you special ID for invitation in: Office => Invite friends
All successful blogs which going to be started might be additionally awarded with contribution medal later in case you not going to stop blogging after the competition ends.
i'm tempted to do one but i don 't think a competition is the appropriate way for recruiting blog writers; the thought of potentially reducing the reward for G_Money33's great work, or Tystuff's upcoming one, makes me pass on this.
If you ever consider looking for bloggers again i would like to propose a price of 50 points for setting up and the first 4-8 posts within 4 weeks, 10-20 points for each additional month with 2-4 posts. Not only for the reason of competing as above but because there won't be to many blog writers available anyway and its best to have the blog receiving a post or two every month for a long, long time in order to maintain its SEO value.

You never thought the same way with tenders and contests. No offence, but this is probably the most silly comment you have ever made, your reason for not starting a blog makes no sense at all.
i guess the entrance barrier of writing a blog and maintaining it is a bit higher than for most other contests :-)
Even if there is a risk that the contest could become a russian style model contest, where you know the winner before the contest has started, i would still applaud it because of the goal to reward engagement for the game ;-)
Well tell you the truth a better idea would be link your blog here(this site) and every post you do you get a game point (max 5 points a month or something) so long as it links back to the site or whatever...
As Mike said this contest is a short gain and afterwards has no purpose to continue with posts.
If you offer long gains to players it can give the game a much needed boost. Say you do 5 points a month (5 posts+) per user, no clones, and you have 100 players doing 5 posts a month that is 6000+ redirects a year and at years end the user would only have 60 points which is enough for a decent farm.
Sure it's 6000 "loss" in paid services but, this sites paid services is one line in a database. The question is what's more important no extra lines in the database or possibly thousands of potential clients that could paid min 5 points?
I know for a fact a database line with all required information for a farm quarry etc wouldn't exceed 400-600 bytes... or in perspective about 1600-2200 units per mb.
Honestly, I wouldn't even bother making a blog post for just 1 point, and a 5 points maximum per month. It already takes quite some efforts to make a decent enough blog post.
I think this competition is a great start, and I actually hope people make use of this opportunity. The more people who are willing to participate, the greater the chance there is that bloggers will be rewarded in the future as well.
Also I don't think a standard reward for a blog post would work out great, then everyone will start low quality blogs just to get some points, even for one silly point, and decent bloggers would back off. With the competition as it's formed now, you are motivated to make a decent blog, and you will rewarded for a decent blog. And if someone just participates for "fun" to grab some points, they won't come far anyway.
Actually at this stage I would recommend anyone with a twitter account, to just make 2 silly comments about Virtonomics every week, and then the chance of getting a fun and small qualification bonus anyway
It really surprises me how little interest there is in writing some blog posts.
^I did that post on my phone but yea i would expect a minimal quality for points to be gotten. While i wouldn't still do it for a point a post someone like Rogue_Cat who is active in game would prob do so as if they can type 60 words a minute and the minimum word count of decent is 500, its 10 minutes or 6 points a hour.
But yea it was just a idea to keep this idea going.
13.01.2016, 03:02. Subject: pulled an allnighter....
I guess ever since the message about the blogging got released I got myself into that...
conception, story, set up, google analytics (for the proof)... usually that cost more than a couple of virts consulting fee.
Everything is set up and ready on Tumbler
So much I can tell you ... Its a Coop-Project between me and Luis and its something completely different...
Since this project consumed already more time than any price could offer it is very clear to us that
we do it purly out of fun and inspiration and because its exiting... but as all good things this blog is limited to the contest period.
Since the analytics works with the tumber site I dont keep you waiting: Here is the link!!!!
Marloan_Morris - you blog is officially added to the competition I like your idea.
This reminds me of 2 things:
1 - There was a guy in Russian forum who wrote 54 page fictional story based off Virtonomics. The plot there was like: my uncle made me a manager to look after cow farm in Siberia so i went there and did my best to make this cow farm profitable. There were many details like foreign equipment, tax optimization, animal feed, distribution and such things. It was fun to read.
2 - 7 years ago another guy wrote the whole book and published it. http://fantlab.ru/work107173 ...
This book was also based off/on Virtonomics
But still hiding refferal link behind "normal" address... Again
This is allowed. Not only this is allowed, but i did say that making your links referral is a great way to earn some additional points from attracting new players. This competitions goes very good with 100 friends program
14.01.2016, 04:15. Subject: new domain... fast progress
I work with Google Adsense Compliance. Meening, no fowl language and no hidden referral links or other deceiptful
links in the text. The links in the Text are even pointed out with brackets - according to the sites referred to in virtonomics
Certainly you have to be logged in to a virtonomics account to see the links proplery. This leaves a maximum chance of getting no refferal from this, but as I said before ... thats not why we do it.
And I do get the hint... I am at lettersized page 12 now with the story and writing... thats why its going to be limited and yes sometimes it might even be a bit shallow in explaination thats why I added a ASK me section to the BLOG.
As I already mentioned in other comments. Its not only a fictional story, or a helper for newbees, or a huge spoiler, or some ethical education, or a satire, or a philosophical point of view, its also a manifesto and might drop some jaws, in the later developement (reminder of who is involved here.)... so be exited... Abso ----listen to me---- lootly!!!
In the beginning we are releasing on daily basis to get some progress into the story.
Additionally for your convenience... and if you use Facebook a lot, we have also added a facebook fanpage, where you can follow and be notified about new entries....
hurry up check it out and be sure to not miss anything... introduction has been made... strategies layed out.... next week comes the first boommmm......... keep reading...
PS: And a big thank you , to those who already return on a daily basis to dive deeper into this exiting story.
