If too many people are buying, your price is too low. It's much easier to just raise your price. Skilled players buy from one warehouse then ship to their subdivisions to make it easier to manage. Having to make multiple orders because of low limits is very annoying and time consuming so I'd like to see limits removed.

As a 'skilled' player you would know that sometimes you don't want one competitor to buy all of your stock at once and price isn't always the best way to deal with that.
 
It's more annoying that someone can just build multiple warehouses to bypass the intended limit. I guess you could just blacklist those people completely but that means you would have to actively keep an eye on it.

This is true in pure capitalism, kill or be killed mindset.  However, when trying to help noobs or corp members (my main goals), it's helpful to keep greedy capitalist from grabbing all the goods.

As a 'skilled' player you would know that sometimes you don't want one competitor to buy all of your stock at once and price isn't always the best way to deal with that.

It doesn't make any difference to me who buys my products. I rarely use limits and only temporarily while I'm unable to produce a product. Also, I don't like buy one update worth of product every update knowing supplies can stop at any time. I prefer to buy enough for several months all at once in one large order. That way I also know the price and quality won't change. Limits force me to buy every update and continually check to see if the price or quality has changed.

This is true in pure capitalism, kill or be killed mindset.  However, when trying to help noobs or corp members (my main goals), it's helpful to keep greedy capitalist from grabbing all the goods.

I think offering low cost products to noobs hurts them more than it helps them. Suppose the market price for bread is $50 but you sell it for $2. A noob opens a store in a bad location and sells it for $5 thinking he knows what he's doing because he's making money. That will hurt his long-term profit overall from making less money on other products. If you charged $50 the noob would realize his store was in a bad location and learn that he needs a store in a wealthier location or a city with a higher population which will help him long-term.
 
There is nothing greedy about being a capitalist. Charging higher market prices encourages more people to produce those products which increases the supply and lowers prices long-term.
 
These limits aren't much of a problem on Lien or Mary realm but on Nika they're quite annoying. I need hundreds of contracts just to supply 20 restaurants because limits are so low I need 5 suppliers for each food input in every restaurant. Then, the supplies stop, my restaurant runs out of food quickly so I have to hurry to set up 100 new contracts one at a time for every restaurant.

There are 2 limits in discussion:
 
#1 quantity per order
#2 number of orders per company
 
Ideally, everyone wants a stable supply. I think the idea behind both limits is that the seller can better anticipate how much supply should be moved to the warehouse, which in turn guarantees a stable supply for the buyer. Limit #2 is a way to prevent from abusing limit #1 by setting up many WH.
 
I agree limit #1 a bit annoying as Jayman explained, but it exists naturally -- one can move a small amount of goods to his warehouse each turn.

I agree limit #1 a bit annoying as Jayman explained, but it exists naturally -- one can move a small amount of goods to his warehouse each turn.

If I have 20 restaurants buying goods directly and the supply stops, I have to create 20 new contracts. If my 20 restaurants buy from a warehouse, I only need 1 new contract.

If I have 20 restaurants buying goods directly and the supply stops, I have to create 20 new contracts. If my 20 restaurants buy from a warehouse, I only need 1 new contract.

The limit is usually not intended to serve 20 of your restaurants but rather to serve 20 different people.

I agree limit #1 a bit annoying as Jayman explained, but it exists naturally -- one can move a small amount of goods to his warehouse each turn.

If I have 20 restaurants buying goods directly and the supply stops, I have to create 20 new contracts. If my 20 restaurants buy from a warehouse, I only need 1 new contract.

This is precisely what makes me propose this change. I like ordering supply for my sales units (store,restaurant, etc) from my own WH, which in turn gets its supply from multiple suppliers. For rare goods, suppliers tend to set a limit on how much one unit can order. I think there are multiple reasons for this (limit #1), such as searching for optimal price, helping startup companies, etc. This limit can be circumvented by setting up many WH, which often (1) makes supply unstable (2) force suppliers to set smaller limits.  Implementing limit #2 would help with this problem and make supply more stable. If you know a supplier can only supply 15 of your restaurants long-term, you could simply sign additional contracts at the beginning when you open the 20 restaurants.  Also, suppliers can better gauge the demand in the long run and reduce the effort of opening/closing factories.

Why not just have one limit per company? For example, instead of setting a limit of 1000 per order and a limit of 15 orders per company, why not just have one limit of 15000 per company?

The limit is usually not intended to serve 20 of your restaurants but rather to serve 20 different people.

I wasn't aware of that. I thought the limit was to prevent people stockpiling goods to resell later at a higher price. Maybe that's why I keep getting blacklisted.
