there is disappointment over the lack of update, however, this shows what real business is like, a stream of things that try and knock you off balance.

just hope they can manage the situation better for the future.

i run my own business and when im working i choose to run a virtual business....can anyone explain why i am doing this? because i have run out of ideas

Somebody refers "Audience description" about gameplayers pays per month, over 30$. Sorry, but I don't belive it. The most people are young people, and young people unfortunately has got less money. It's curious the most people are young and the most people are manager or business owners (46%):

* 31% mid-level managers
* 19% students
* 15% specialists/office workers
* 10% private entrepreneurs and business owners
* 5% top managers

UPDATE's: this game is free. Maybe people spend their money, but if you want you can play free.
People complain that you do not see your changes and can not learn fast. It happens me too. I'm new and I like to see the changes that I plan to introduce are developed. Patience. I prefer to not have updates in the game, but the game is like that.

I suppose virtonomics team will make all possible to solve the problem. Maybe players have to sell them new computer equipments, does anybody produce or sell servers? Cheerfully

The first concerned that all goes right are they (virt team)

And I wait for the update too, of course

Another day of no updates. I recieved a system message explaining that there is a database failure and the game is taking a few days off.

I am OK with this because Virtonomics is a great game and most importantly it's free. But problems like this are the difference between a great game and one I'd pay for. It's a shame, there is much potential here.

I still think Virtonomics is a great game. This is the first time we get to play a business simulation based game that is as challenging and engaging as this one. Furthermore, it is damn realistic despite it being a lot simpler than the real world. I think if I'm in the real world making a business, I'd go bankrupt like 3 to 5 times in a row. This game really helped me to understand pretty much how economy and business works.

As for the recent downtime, I can understand the frustration you guys are having, and for the Virtonomics team, I think they're even more frustrated right now. I used to be Software Developer for 4 years, working on a Seaport Management System. Only this year I got my lucky break and promoted as an IT Internal Auditor. We used to have the same problem like this one. Upon an update (a new bill created or information update by the user), the database just crashed. Only to find out that it was caused by a bug in the system that cause just one stupid field in the database to have a corrupt or unreadable information. This cause the whole system to lock as it read's all the data in the database. And finding that row in the database is very time consuming. This thing is very easy to solve, just need to be patient because of the tedious task.

So Virtonomics Team, you guys have my support. You guys have done a great job with the game, and I'm sure you guys will continue to do a good job.

Relax. The game has thousands accounts, a huge database, kilometres of code... Bugs and technical problems are unavoidable. Admins regularly update the code. Such troubles will happen sometimes, but they are not so often as they seems. Just think that you've got some vacation.
