Country
We are glad to announce a new geographical unit on the map of Virtonomics - Belgium .
The territory of the country is divided into 3 regions - Vlaanderen, Walonreye, Region de Bruxelles-Capitale, total number of cities is 9.
 
The territory of Belgium is not very rich in natural resources, but there you can still find here wood, coal, poly-metallic ore, grain, potatoes, sugar, feed crops and flowers.
 
The country will have restrictions on the maximum size of divisions in retail and services (stores up to 10.000 square meters).
 
New goods and services
Together with the new country, a number of new products will be launched:
Medical masks, produced at Medical mask factory, retail category - Pharmacy
 
Burgunder - the national Belgian blouse, produced at Apparel manufacturing, retail category - Clothing and shoes, quality bonus in Belgium +20%
 
Waffles, produced in Bakehouse, retail category - Food
(the current specialization of the same name is renamed into Muffins)
 
Diamond necklace, produced in Diamond workshop, retail category - Jewelry
 
Product update is planned for March 11th.
 
Belgian future
In the near future a number of events are planned in the country:

regional project for the development of the territory

Why do you think these are mistakes?
The name of the regions in the countries we are most often written in the native languages of these countries.

'Walonreye' is a bit far-fetched. The common word used in the region would be Wallonie (in standard French). If you use 'Walonreye', you would have to set 'Vlaanderen' to 'Vloandern' (and that pronunciation still differs markedly between the provinces in each region).
 
But still, very happy to have Belgium in the game now!

Well, because we are Belgians :-)
 
Personally I'm extremely happy with the addition of my country! YEAY!!!
 
Just to dot the i's:
 
Vlaanderen is the correct name for the most populated dutch speaking (we call it "flemish") region.
 
Wallonie would be the correct term for the southern part that is mostly french speaking, but also has a german speaking part. The latter being the reason to avoid the addition of "région".
 
Brussels is a complex matter. I'd suggest to avoid making a linguistical choice here. You have nothing to gain and only risk to offend speakers of the language you didn't choose. Ie "Brussels-Capital" (with or without "region") might be the smart move here. Brussels is after all also the capital of the EU, right? So it's no problem to give it its more neutral english name :-)

Of course, you can correct me, but along with the French, Dutch and German used in Belgium, there is also, for example, Walloon. And on it the name of the region sounds like "Walonreye". "Vlaanderen" - it is clear in Dutch.
We can rename the regions, of course. But in my opinion, there will never be a proper name.

It is not easy to find some kind of national clothes specifically for Belgium. We found such a piece of clothing, and therefore introduce such an option. It is also part of national clothing in Switzerland, for example.

As you have already noticed, yesterday we launched bonus sets. Please note that a free chest can be obtained in any city. All products that are in the anti-virus warehouse can only be seen on the Sales tab (they are from different categories, so the warehouse cannot show them on the main page).
 
For all other chests, choosing a city is not important - units are built in cities from the set description.
 
Belgium's regional projects will also have a similar geography (for example, a bonus to the jewelery industry in Antwerp).
 
When the projects will be launched I can not say for sure. Now our team has changed the operating mode, so the development timelines are changing. But we will try to start projects in the very near future.

The reference page shows that 100 bakehouse workers manufacture just 250 waffles. At the same time, 50 workers in bakery or confectionary manufacture 2000 pcs of pastry or marshmallows , meaning that waffles require in comparison 16x more manpower to be manufactured. This causes the waffles to have very high prime cost based almost entirely on worker salary.
Is this intended to be like this?

Is this intended to be like this?

I did some calculations, and to get just 5% market share in Waffles (at tech 20 - now we're at 7) you would need 1.62 million workers. At say $200 a waffle (twice the market price), that would generate 2 billion USD in revenue. It is profitable (I'm making waffles at $60 at tech 6 using only indie suppliers), but the income per worker is very low. They have set the reqs for Waffles like for Electronics, but those sell at a multiple of the price for Waffles.
 
On the other hand, who doesn't like an empty market, right? Very we!

Game mechanics suggests a price increase in the absence of an offer. Probably, sooner or later, the retail price will reach the point at which wafer production is appropriate. Although at other realms, the starting price for waffles and medical masks was an order of magnitude higher. We were cheated.
