on Olga the new car industry has already grown to more than 10% of their segments (production vs total market size).
 
On Mary and Lien, however, the 1% barrier hasn't even been breached. Looking at the economic impact of the motorcar industry in the real world, this is really a shame. And I'm sure it puts numerous players that bit closer to quitting the game, rather than buying the points needed to be active in these fields.

Screw the cars, buy bicycles. To you Look at the Chinese, it goes really well for them. Cheaper cost, safer for wildlife and no need for fuel. No access to main materials at moderated price, no production. As simple as that.

I abandoned retailing any of the cars on Lien until it's shaken out. I've noticed a lot of legacy car makers going out though, based on the enterprises for sale sheet.
 
I won't touch the whole segment until I'm confident I can compete.

First thing I wanted to build when I started...... Now that I have the cash I realize its nearly impossible to just jump into it, too many parts requiring too many paid service sub-divisions, the ~100m it would take to get it off the ground wouldn't even begin to make you a competitive seller, and would take ages to make a slight return on.
 
However, if anyone wanted to perhaps, start an automobile syndicate and pool resources to open the market up? If you spread the load out around the group you could probably make it happen.
