Undercutting prices may not be necessary at the start unless you've got tons of risk taking in mind e.g. cash to invest in stocked goods - or work with drop shippers of course. You can always reduce prices to fix sales, its easier than to increase them.
Research and marketing are corner stones, i'd suggest localized language, focus on customer satisfaction and -binding, maximizing return per customer rather than volume first. Keep in mind freight cost may add up big $$ on the cost for the buyer, buy 2 get one free offers could be attractive as some people buy more of an item even they don't need it - if its cheap and/or free.
