Im thinking of starting to buy goods at wholesalers and sell them on for profit (of course), I would welcome any advice anyone could give me, I am checking what products sell at what prices etc and plan to undercut the current sellers online but apart from that I have no experience of this and thought Virtonomics would be a goo place to ask for advice.

Thanks in advance for any advice you guys could give me.

Undercutting prices may not be necessary at the start unless you've got tons of risk taking in mind e.g. cash to invest in stocked goods - or work with drop shippers of course. You can always reduce prices to fix sales, its easier than to increase them.

Research and marketing are corner stones, i'd suggest localized language,  focus on customer satisfaction and -binding,  maximizing return per customer rather than volume first. Keep in mind freight cost may add up big $$ on the cost for the buyer,  buy 2 get one free offers could be attractive as some people buy more of an item even they don't need it - if its cheap and/or free.

Good Luck!

You sound like a guy who knows his stuff, when I say 'business' I mean buying a small amount of goods at first and selling them on Ebay.

I will buy them from my local Cash and Carry and store them at home atm, I'm talking small amounts to begin with to test the water so to speak, and see where it takes me......hopefully onto bigger and better lol!

Thanks again!

i've seen and heard of people who buy FROM eBay in bulk, then sell it individually and make money.  as Mike1 said, research and marketing - if you are talking eBay, you can just track some items over a period of time for free and see where that leads.

was looking at eBay for iphones a while back for my niece and noticed the bulk-buying then resale tactic. electronics, of course, have a shortish shelf life and become quickly superseded by the next model.  starting small sounds like a very prudent and sensible idea.

good luck
