The game date display in the upper right corner of the screen keeps switching between from what I can tell is the game date ( eg. 13 October 03 ) and the current, real date ( eg. 29 August 09 ).

Is this intentional or a bug? If it's intentional, is there an explanation as to why it works that way?

because 1 real day is 1 game week, the made the date not according to real life.

instead it is 03 years since the beggining of the game.

Yes I understand the difference between the game date and the real date.

What I'm saying is that the display in the upper right corner sometimes displays the game date and other times displays the real life date.

both the game date and the real date need to be known. its made on purpose. and no, the display on the upper right cornor always shoes the real date. on other places it could say either the real or the game date.
