There is so many advantages of the new UI . And just as anything new, it shows a couple of glitches. I.e. entry is unreliable and behaves inconsistent. Prominent examples:
+ unreliable number entry fields: it happened many times that updates just are not saved. E.g. enter new price, click accept - confirmed. click save - confirmed. Reload page: it shows the updated value - or the old value. start over.
+ inconsistent number entry behavior: entry is inconsistent across the various pages. supply quantity details: defaults to factor x10. quantity updates: want to add 1million pieces, point the cursor leftmost - but cursor jumps right, adding 1 single piece. Want to increase from 2.000.000 to 3.000.000 - hence place cursor to replace digit 2 with 3. All the figure is deleted, and you end up with 3 pieces instead of 3.000.000 . Basically, every entry field has its own idea of how to correct and change your manual inputs.
+ erroneous forecasts: While forecast possibilities is the Killer Feature (!) to adopt the new UI, the results are often erroneous. Reason: problematic caching of data. Data in the backend has changed, but the "forecast" avoids reloading and uses previously cached data - until I manually reload the full page to refresh cache. (The same happens with equipment quality forecasts when buying equipment. Or buy and repair in the "wrong" order)
That's some examples. There may be more. The browser's page reload button started to become one of the most pressed buttons for me after adopting the new UI. Certainly it's a load of nasty, unpleasent detail work to tackle this kind of usability. Thank you for taking it up!
