great to have this biodiversity super auction. Personally, I'm reluctant to free up the points needed to make a decent bid. Especially since I fear that a few players might continue to outbid me anyway.
So, maybe for this type of auction where it really isn't so simple to make a bid, we could switch to the dutch auction system? That means that the bidding starts at a ludicrous price and then drops until somebody just buys the item.
Admin need not tell in advance how many sets will be sold. That way, they can continue selling as long as the price is high enough and make some extra money.
Example:
buffalo (+4 to all skills): bidding starts at 100 points (or higher if experience teaches us this isn't enough). Every hour, the price drops by 1 point.
If this would work, why not offer this option to all (player) auctions too. Because, as much as it might be hard to free up 100 points for a super auctions, you might not want to issue 2Tn worth of bonds for a farm/mine/sawmill/... if you're not sure you're gonna get it.
Alternatively, you could work out a system of delayed payments. You win the asset, you get X time to pay for it. If I were to auction off an asset of mine that's worth 3Tn, I might give my buyer a day or 2 to find the funds necessary to pay me. Obviously, the asset isn't transferred until it's paid for.
