Does it matter what type of Departments you group together in a store and where the store is located? For example, should Baby Products and Food sell best in Residential areas? if you group Baby Products with Automotive Goods does it matter? Should Jewelry only be sold in Trendy Neighborhoods but not Automotive Goods? Should Child Care Facilities only be located in Residential areas? Do all goods sell best in Trendy Neighborhoods or not? Does anything sell best in the Suburbs?

I believe that the apartments (be it suburb, residential area, etc) are linked to the average prices. If you are going to set up a store in the suburbs, I imagine that it would be better to sell by price and not quality. You understand me? otherwise, in a store in a prestigious district, what determines the level of sales will be the quality of the product over the price.

As far as I know, what Balti says is correct. City districts differ with population and wealth indexes. For example, city centre is most populated one, while trendy neighbourhood is the wealthiest. The store location should match your sales strategy. Clients in trendy neighbourhood will want top quality, brand and service level, while suburbs will only care about price.

Not sure if mixing certain store departments can affect its sales efficiency, but certainly adding more departments will deteriorate it. Single-department stores operate best.
