How often does the population of cities change? Also does the population in the realm increase in total or does it just shift from one city to another? New player, thought I was getting the hang of pricing but just had a massive drop in sales and was wondering if the market size ever grew or if I would continue to compete for the same size. Thank you any help is appreciated.

Go into Analytics > Macroeconomics > Demographic > last changes.
 
According to page it says 17 april (mary) is next time. That would mean it happens once a year during october (ingame time).
 
There is no growth unless the mayor actives a policy, or if there is new subdivs there created while it has 0% uneployment and real population exceeds nominal population.
