According to item 5 of the rules of Contest for Managers (menu My earnings!", bookmark "Contest rules") the participants have to go through the procedure of registration after 14 upgrades since the restart. The players with Management level equal to or higher than 5 qualify automatically. Unfortunately, you have not qualified and cannot continue participating in the current Contest for managers."
 

what is the procedure of registration it mentions and how do i go about it?

The process of registration is that you have to have level 5 management after 14 days since you started (or your last restart). Its a very contrived system for explanation...I'd attribute it to translation into English :-(

I assume that for your contest for managers, you will need to have a management skill of 5 before 2 weeks has elapsed in the contest. If you do not reach a management skill level of 5, you will be disqualified from your contest. With this, and people restarting, my contest for managers consist of me, and only me. So it's looks like I win by default.

Qualification occurs automatically if you reach management qualification 5 within 14 updates, and you need to have management qualification 10 at the end of the contest to win VIRTs.
 
It is difficult for new players to achieve unless they spend a bit of time learning the game, especially reading through the forums.

i was doing great but ended up with lvl 8 in management. i was the only contender and even when i wasn't, i was the first from very far away. too bad. it's hard to get that lvl 10 :S

Ah excellent responses. So to clarify my understanding.
 
you need management Level 5  within 14 days to STAY qualified.
Then you need to achieve Management Level 10 by the contest end to be eligible for Virts.

Yes, as far as I know, that was how I did it to win the Contest for Managers on Lien when I started playing.
 
Contest for Directors is kind of similar, but requires you to have 5 VIRTs after 15 days.

Level 10 after 30 days is not impossible, but you need to have a good understanding of how qualification growth works.
 
Read, learn and ask questions where you need to.
As a last resort maybe someone would be willing to lend you a few VIRTs to increase your qualification to the necessary level. Sometimes all it takes is a question to be asked.

I almost had +0.4 growth in marketing from the beginning, so if I can keep this up that would mean you can raise a qualification level easily by 10 points within 30 days. My management growth is smaller, but still enough.

ChrisBerlin the more you level up, the less your growth will be. There's a "max qualification growth" here in the FAQ forum to clear you out. good luck Well
