My lab says that number of required scientists is just 5 while I have 30 employed. Is my research running faster because I have 30 people there or are they just being wasted? Can I do multiple researches in parallel from the same lab?

What should I be doing here?

You can research only 1 technology at a time.

I don't think using more scientists then the requirement states, will give you faster researching.
