i have started playing this game for a week now and it looks quite good, except for the fact that you have to look everything either in forums, and it is a real hassle for new players like me. Also to add to the fact that there is no guide informing about the list of items to be produced, traded etc. and there is no list of factory prices - i have to look them from the procedure listed for new enterprise construction - a BIG BIG TURNOFF. why can't the developers and admin just list the prices of the construction besides the description? searching the forum is also a problem.
Anyways, on the 2nd day in first week of the game, I have managed to get -"SUPER-MANAGER" which says that my qualifications have been raised by +2 for 10 days. Also in the first week itself, I have managed to complete 2 quests. I came across the tab COMPETITIONS, clicking on which i found that i am in a 'CONTEST FOR MANAGERS' .apart from listing a player's name, company name and value of assets,it only gives a status column for which i found that there is no explanation. It only gives a colored red box which I think that it would be easy to understand, only problem that there is no guide.. Also it says that there are 23 updates left. What I have to achieve before that? Can somebody point that out please?
what is the criteria for winning this competition, unable to comprehend it and so I am very confused. Also I am confused about the qualification ratings. It says that I have got 3 in management, 2 in production and commerce, and 1 for the rest. what does it mean??
Also there are some numbers in the form + 0.xxx . what are they? and why they change constantly and if they depend on some parameters, what are they?
And also i think that locking up of some enterprises - plantations, mines etc. and the compulsory need for purchase by game points only are like sore thumbs. if we are playing for free, shouldn't these be free as well, though they may be priced steeply?

What are you looking for exactly? What is required to make products? There is a list that shows you what can be made in various factories, and cross-indexes raw materials to goods that can be produced:
You can click on a factory, and view what it can produce, and what is needed. You can click on the product picture to get a breakdown on what it does (such as clicking on eggs to see what all they are used in).

I think your looking at the 30-day competition. It is a competition for every player that registered the same day as you. The person with the most assets, turnover and such get prizes at the end of 30 days if they have the most assets. There is a BIG caveat though: By day 14, you must have management qualification up to level 5, and level 10 by 30 days. That is very difficult to do, but you may get there.

Think of qualification as your experience level in an RPG. At higher levels, you can have more workers in various areas, keeping them at 100% efficency. So for example: Lets say you have a level 2 production qualification. It means you can handle ~250 workers in factories and stay at 100% efficiency (250 is an arbitrary number, I don't know what the # of workers is, exactly). If you don't level this up, then you may face stringent penalties if you try to build too quickly.

Someone else can correct me if I'm wrong, but: it is the rate of increase for your qualifications. So if the number was 0.334, you would level up that qualification in 3 turns. Think of it as how many experience points you gain a turn.

I agree with you. Buying the largest farm comes in at a whopping 2,000 points. If you used $$$$ to buy that, then it costs an insane $2000 USD! Impossible! I think that requiring points to buy some buildings is fine. However, those kinds of costs are just too much.
Personally, I would have rather them locked the higher level buildings (like the 100k square meter retail store - requiring like 5 points to buy), rather than them kill farming, plantations and mining.
