on the eve of the next birthday of Virtonomics, we are announcing a fundamentally new huge piece of gameplay with immense potential for further development. The new gameplay will be modestly called “Construction”.
What does it mean, and in which direction it will develop.
The new construction functionality will give players the opportunity to build various structures of various sizes and purposes. There will be several levels of possible structures:
1st level - special functional modules for business units that affect certain parameters of units;
2nd level - Corporate structures (for example, the Corporate University) affecting certain parameters of the company's activities,
3rd level - Significant structures (for example, the Eiffel Tower) - giving certain effects at the level of the company, character, markets.
4th level - "Technological breakthroughs" and "Wonders of the world" giving new unique gaming opportunities.
In the medium term - the possibility of building your own cities, space stations, discovering and populating new planets.
This is still a very conceptual and general description. We will post detailed descriptions gradually, in parallel with the introduction of new levels.
The construction of any structure will require certain building materials, equipment and the compliance of the player and / or company with certain conditions - the recipes for the required materials and required conditions for each type of structure are unique.
There are no plans to change the functionality of creating units. Those. You create a plant or a store, just as before - as simply as possible, but you are already building additional modules to it at the so-called "Construction Combine". The construction plant is not a unit in the virtonomics sense of the word. Rather, it is a wizard and interface for building structures and managing construction projects.
Accordingly, several new industries for the production of building materials and construction equipment are being introduced.
The functionality is large, very complex and multi-vector. Therefore, it will be introduced and developed by us gradually.
This Wednesday, December 1, we are rolling out the first small, but the most important basic part of the new "Construction" functionality into release (so far only on Nika realm - BizWar). This is actually the stage of public testing of the main mechanics, algorithms, balance and key interfaces of the new building functionality. Accordingly, as part of the public test on Nika, new industries for the production of building materials and construction equipment will be introduced. It will be possible to build only 2 types of structures so far - both are upgrade modules for factories. After running on Nika (BizWar), Construction will appear on Mary and Lien. We really hope that this will happen no later than mid-December.
And, most likely, in December we will try to significantly expand the range of possible Buildings of the 1st level, as well as make interfaces for buildings of the 2nd level and higher.
