Country
We are pleased to present to your attention a new geographical unit on the Virtonomics map - Sweden.
The country's territory is divided into 3 regions - Götaland, Svealand, Norrland, the total number of cities is 20.
 
A number of natural resources are represented in the territory of Sweden: timber and iron ore, as well as copper pyrite, polymetallic ore, grain.
 
It is expected that the country will perform as a special economic zone with a number of economic differences:
- low tax rate;
- solid customs duties (the export duty on the overwhelming number of commodity items will be 300%);
- restrictions on the size of the units being created (stores up to 1000 sq. m, plants up to 1000 workplaces, etc.)
- soft labor policy (on the territory of the country there are to be "labor" vacations for new companies for 3 months - recruitment agencies and trade unions do not make any requirements for such companies).
 
In the nearest future, a number of Swedish promo events are planned. For example, launching a bonus set of Swedish resources, a regional Swedish project and other pleasant events. Do not miss it!
 
New goods and services
Together with the new country, a number of new products are launched:
Snus, produced at the Tobacco Factory , the retail category is Grocery
Folkdrakt - the national Swedish costume - produced at the National Textile Manufacture , the retail category - Clothing and footwear , the quality bonus in Sweden + 20%
Cargo van, is produced at Auto assembly plant , retail category - Automotive goods
Office furniture , produced at Office Furniture Factory , retail category - Industrial products
Office chair , produced at Office Furniture Factory , retail category - Industrial products
 

Small passing updates
Offices are excluded from "trade union" lists (only from trade union, but not from recruiting);
 
Cities whose mayors run the projects "New microdistrict" or "City University" for VirtCities (52 recounts) are exempt from recruits since the launch of the project.
 
For cities with a population of less than 500,000 people, the minimum population growth for the launch of the New Microdistrict project is 25,000 inhabitants.

Good news,
 
the introduction of any new country is or should be a good news overall, I hope to see the day when all the countries in the real world would appear on our virto game sim as well on all realms
 
Pros:
- new products, new tech, new opportunities maybe to use those new products
- I'd like to see the use of office furniture being need it and used well to furnish our offices, not just to be sold in stores
 
side note suggestions
about office chairs - a "chair" any chair is a furniture piece by the way - so I'd suggest to name the office "furniture" as office desks, to keep it realistic and to complement with the office chair item, altogether, being in fact furniture
 
Cons
- why restrictions on size, especially on stores size?
- it's not realistic and not authentic, as one store owner can in theory buy-rent-build a store, as large as it can be, the only restriction being the budget and land available
- in Sweden as a country, there are mega-size stores too, like ikea and not only, thus, a limit of stores size is not justified, if we want to keep it realistic and authentic
- the adding more "charm" and/or challenges to the game experience reason/s is not a viable valid reason to limit the store size... yes, I can understand the factories size, due to let's say low populations, smaller cities, less available workforce, etc.
- the stores size is and should be only limited by efficiency, profitability and budget of the store owner, not by limitations when introducing the country to the simulation
- same goes with Latvia too and other countries with limitations on stores size
 
now, if you - game owners-developers - don't care about realism and/or authenticity, then altho' I don't agree, I can see your reasons, but if you care for realism and/or authenticity, then don't place limitations on stores size
 
either way, just enter - virtually or not - into an ikea store and see for yourself...
 
to conclude on a positive note, great job on introducing Sweden, I hope we'll soon see more and more countries in...

Nice to see you adding an country to fully complete and unite the Scandinavian and Nordic countries into the game as an whole. Keep it up!
 
The store limitation is an good thing, even tho Ghiby are complaining a little. I see this as an upportunity for all players to check out the new market without having the large ones uccupy the whole marketshare for the time being,but i would see an increase into the 10,000 Sq/m later when it has settled down.
 
Should add that Sweden used to produce cars (Volvo & SAAB), so would we see an bonus for producing cars in this country?
 
There are a lot off positive things about this update and i like to see how it evolves in the future.

I am trying a store in Stockholm, but the biggest I could put up was 500 sq m.
 
This is a nice experiment in making a playground for new players as somebody cannot dominate the market by building a gazillion size store and flooding it with goods. This may be a place for smaller corps to get some certificates for retail. This might also be an interesting place for more competitive retail Tenders.
 
I don't understand the tariffs, however. Normally, a country has tariffs on imports to protect domestic industry. Why a gigantic tariff on exports?

It's a game. We do not care about realism, otherwise you will receive tax returns every quarter) Some changes are made for game balance and greater playability.

No, there will not be such a bonus. But other bonuses are possible under the country's development program. We are discussing these events. Hope to start them in May.

This country will be the starting point for newcomers, all new companies will be created here. So the conditions in the country will be as friendly as possible. Many players will want to use these terms. For this we introduce high import duties, so as not to create a huge production offshore here.

i actually agree that this combination of settings makes for an interesting new environment in Virto-Sweden.
 
But i don't understand the *fun* at talking down customer concerns with such attitude instead of rational reasoning.

Question: do I understand correctly that if I buy the 59-point "Live unboring" bonus set, the qualifications bonus of +5 is permanent? Or is it also limited to 30 days like with the 19 point "swedish furniture" bonus set?

Yes. 59-point set have permanent reward, 19-point only 30-days.

No, there is no mistake.
Sweden is a country where all the new companies are being created. Therefore, conditions for development have been created for them. High import duties protect the market from goods from old players, and high exports are made to reduce interest in producing large companies in Sweden (there is a lightweight migration policy in the country, so it is profitable to produce here).
