On May, 22, 2010 the Mary realm has turned a year! The Administration bring you their sincere congratulations and is happy to give presents.
 
First of all, all players who have been registered since the realm started working up to July, 1, 2009 and who visited the game in May, 2010 get the commemorative badge “A year with Virtonomics”. The badge gives a +1 bonus to all top manager’s qualifications.
 
Secondly, on June, 8 a new country is to appear on the realm – Spain (10 cities: Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia, Sevilla, Zaragoza, Malaga, Murcia, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Palma de Mallorca, Bilbao).
 
In connection with the appearance of Spain there will also be added three new articles of trade: oranges, football uniform and beach goods.
 
In addition, a new factory will be added (Citrus processing factory) and 12 new specializations: Dried ham (jamón), Sangria, Football uniform, Beach umbrella, Diving equipment, Swimming dress, Orange juice, Orange rind, Mineral shake with vitamins added, Citrus drink, Orange sponge cake, Oranges (on plantations).

Holy moly, that is a lot of resources, and that is a lot of products that no one has an advantage in, although plantations will make it harder. The introduction of Spain should be interesting, who will be first to seize the new markets? Also, Diska, if you are reading this, are you planning any special contests, like the one for Finland that took place long before I joined?

Football uniform, cool!
 
I checked the production tab on my clothing factory and it seems I can make those uniforms and beach goods but I can't change the factory's specialization. Heh, gotta wait eh....

The new citrus factory produces the orange juice (juice), orange rind (spice), mineral shake with vitamines (a protein shake varient) and citrus drink (soft drink). Oranges is used in these, and can be sold as foodstuff.
 
The production is the following (note that all production values will be for 100 workplaces, no tech bonuses)
 
0.5 Orange = 1 Orange Juice
3 Oranges = 1 Spice (Orange Rind), -20% quality
1 Orange + 0.1 Minerals = Protein Shake (Mineral Shake with Vitamins), +15% Quality
0.1 Orange + 0.01 Aluminium + 0.1 Sugar = Soft Drink (Orange Juice), +15% Quality
 
Production rates for 100 workplaces, Tech 1 is 16000 Orange Juice, 2000 Spice, 5000 Protein Shakes and 20000 Soft Drink.
 
The production rate for Sangria, which is a specialisation of alcohol is the following:
0.1 Glass + 1 Grape + 1 Orange = 1 Alcohol, +15% Quality
It will produce 2000 a week.
 
The production rate of Orange Sponge Cake, a variation of pastry, is the following:
0.5 Orange + 2 Eggs + 1 Flour + 0.25 Sugar = 1 Pastry, +10% Quality
It will produce 4000 a week
 
The production of football uniforms (clothing) is the following:
0.5 plastic + 0.5 rubber + 2 synthetic fabric = 1 uniform
A basic factory will be able to produce 500 a week.
 
The beach stuff is seperated into 3 specialisations of beach stuff (manufactured good), beach umbrellas (umbrella factory), swimming dress (clothing factory), diving equipment (sports tools). The following are for each factory:
 
Clothing - 1 Fabric = 1 Beach Stuff, -30% Quality
Sports Tools - 1 Plastic + 1 Rubber + 0.4 Glass = 1 Beach Stuff, +10% Quality
Umbrella - 2 Synthetic Fabric + 0.5 Plastic = 1 Beach Stuff
For clothing factories, basic production is 1000 a week, sports tools is 2000 a week, umbrella is 1000 a week. Therefore, advantage to produce at sport tools factory.
 
And finally, dried ham is produced at the pig farm. It is a specialisation of sausages.
16 Wheat = 2 Sausage, +200% Quality
But it will only produce 400 a week at a 1 building farm.
 
The Orange Plantation is active as well. A 100 hectare farm, basics for everything will produce 520000 pieces of orange a year. Currently, Oranges are only available to be produced in Spain, ranging from quality 1 to 5. Barcelona will be Q5, Sevilla will be Q4, Malaga Q3, Murcia Q2, Valencia Q1.
 
The tax rate for spain is very high, a dummy store showed that it is exactly 30%, wealth level ranges from middle (500) to high (850). Average salaries is lower than most similar wealth nations ($350 per retail employee, cheaper than many from similar wealth levels). Spain has a high rate of education and low wages, similar to United Kingdom at this moment.

Yeah, turkbostjan, the prices I've seen are VERY LOW, the prices for juices will fetch about $7 for Q1, when the same will be about $35 for other markets, many prices are at below prime cost, only meat seems high. I guess this is a new market, so over the next few updates, it should balance itself hopefully, otherwise, it will be a widely ignored retail market.

Wow prices are very low. Aren't the prices an average of the prices that real players put up ?
 
I saw prices yesterday and they where neutral on 0 so expected that 'we' could make the price.
All raise your price and let us make our own average put prices on food about 200,- for the low cost and 750 for the high products . Yes make it a wealthy country.
