Number 5
I dont see why its good to swap VIRTs to points. Considering game mechanics they are the same with only one notable difference, that points are not transferable between realms and players.
But the non transferable detail goas against most of those what Virtonomics stands for, namely free market and competitiveness, and thus the most efficient way of allocating resources.
And considering that by far the Qualification levels of the user are the biggest constrain of the development of a company, then transferable VIRTs are the most precious commodity in this game. After you reach 10-20B in assets, then cash becomes trash, there is nothing to spend it on.
Except of course on Enterprise auctions, which is a way to convert cash to assets normally purchasable with VIRTs only. Other - I think more important - way was to spend ingame cash is to buy VIRTs from people, mostly from those winning it.
And you want to remove the biggest inflow of transferable VIRTS from the game. Thats bad, very bad in my opinion.
I like this game very much because it gives me the chance to develop faster if I am better than most other people playing this game. But if you enable this feature, then those people who have an edge over others, or better understand the rules or better managers, etc. etc. , has no way to develop faster - because of Q level constrains - , because people cant buy VIRTs from each other, because simply there will be hardly any VIRTs in the system, because as far as I see most VIRTs come from the contest winners.
I know that theoretically I still can buy VIRTs, but there will be hardly sellers, because much less VIRTs will enter the game. Mostly through tenders, but most people who compete in tenders has sufficient game experience to understand how important qualification levels are, so they mostly dont sell VIRTs, because they know cash is trash.
So I suggest to do just the opposite, meaning redesign the game to enter more VIRTs into it and make them permanently transferable, meaning even the receiver of a VIRT should got a VIRT, not a point
I know that you remove VIRTs mainly because you fear that people will cash out them to get RL money. But they wont, if you have a good game. If you remove the option to cash out, I think you wont lose a single customer, but then you can have permanently transferable VIRTs, and then you can introduce a VIRT exchange, where people can put in buy orders and sell orders of VIRTs, meaning that eventually those people will use VIRTs who value them the most.
And this is the goal of every free market society, that to use the available resources to the most efficient way, and transfer stuffs to those who value them the most. |
