1. The scheduled work on the qualifications reform is coming to an end. As expected, last changes are to be made during the last week of January: warehouses will have the efficiency calculated according to the efficiency of the main office; the efficiency will influence the magnitude of costs of the warehouse. In addition, the office pages will show data on the aggregate advertising in dependent stores and the total area of dependent warehouses.
There is also expected a change in the algorithm of calculating the successfulness ranking associated with the numbers of the “experience” obtained by players in the new system of updates.

2. We’ll try to finish all the announced changes by the end of this week. Among other changes, the interface of the daily VIRTs drawing among game points buyers will finally be updated; the office interfaces will include links to the wikipedia article on Virtonomics. In addition, this week we are solving the old problem of slow game functioning when uploading the counters.

3. After long and heated debate we’ve decided to change the rules of participating in tenders. The changes are meant to provide a more massive participation of the players in the drawing of VIRTs.

Additions to the rules of registration and participation in tenders

1. Players who have less than 10 unspent VIRTs on the account are considered to be amateur league players and can only take part in tenders with the prize of no more than 3 VIRTs;
2. Players who have from 10 to 60 unspent VIRTs are considered to be professional league players and can participate in tenders with the prize of 3 to 5 awarded VIRTs;
3. Players who have more than 60 unspent VIRTs on the account are the professional super league players and can take part in tenders with the prize of more than 5 VIRTs;
4. Thus tenders with the prize of 1 VIRT are for amateurs only, 3 VIRTs – amateurs and professionals, 5 VIRTs – professionals only, super tenders with the prize of more than 5 VIRTs are for super professionals;
5. The availability of a tender can be seen while registration, as well as when summarizing the results. If the professional level of a player does not correspond with the prize of the tender, the player is not allowed to take part in the drawing and cannot win the prize;
6. When a player is registering and checking if the tender is available, his/her current amount of unspent VIRTs is taken into account. When summarizing the results we take into account the amount of unspent VIRTs right before the calculation of tender rankings on a given realm, which means we do not consider the prize VIRTs of the current tenders of the realm. However, we do consider the prize VIRTs on other realms, where an upgrade ends earlier;
7. When determining the professional status of a player we only take into account the amount of unspent VIRTs on his/her account. Ways to earn VIRTs (tenders, 100 friends, daily drawing for payers, etc.) and the realm on which they’ve been earned do not matter.

P.S. The first generation of tenders with the leagues division starts functioning starting from the update from Jan. 25 to Jan. 26, the registration rules take effect on Jan. 27.

so now... players who have 2 or 3 companies have even more chances because they can participate in all 3 levels and strong competitors are disqualified. players who only have one company and happy to win a few virts to improve Qualification or buy a small mine... are amateurs.

On mary realm, today new regulations has effected VIRT holdings of usual main winners (each has won more than 60 virts in the past 6-8 weeks) as follows:

- Harlus 83 virts = super league
- YDAF 19 virts = professional league
- light76212001 = 0 !! virts = amateur league

My winning chances didn't increase at all, its the opposite; and my participation chance reduce by 2/3 ...because i have spent all of my VIRTS to improve qualification when the snowman melted, i am an amateur now, getting disqualified from tenders which were already announced and prepared for.

And players who already won so many virts are also amateurs because they spent or sent VIRTS to their other clone (s) are now appropriate competitors to other players who just reached mgmt 10 and never won a single VIRT ????

The new qualification system was supposed to take away any advantages of clones, then these changes come along to make clones even more attractive.

If the tender rules are going to stay like this I believe there needs to be new clone rules. Make the game strictly 1 account per realm, with multi account holders banned from the game completely.
It did not matter so much before because there were no unfair benefits to multi accounts, but that is no longer the case.

One thing that bothers me is that until the tenders are completed you can not be sure if you win or not, so how are we supposed to know which tenders to enter? If we go for the amateur ones with 7 updates left and win 1 VIRT within the week we will be disqualified, we can't enter the professional ones because we don't have the VIRTs and we can't just start enterprises for all of them so we are covered either way...

I hope this means the new tenders (7 updates left) from the update from Jan. 25 to Jan. 26 are the first ones to be judged according to this:
"When summarizing the results we take into account the amount of unspent VIRTs right before the calculation of tender rankings on a given realm"
"If the professional level of a player does not correspond with the prize of the tender, the player is not allowed to take part in the drawing and cannot win the prize".

i think it is wonderful that admin is trying to change the tender rules so there may be more players with a chance at winning the tenders.

the new rules do certainly try to have players of similar level play against each other, but what Mike1 and Fractal said are very true.

i was fortunate enough to win the manager's contest, and still have 16 unspent VIRTs. that takes me into the professional league! i just entered my first tender yesterday, more for the experience than with any real expectation of winning. to be competitive in the same league as the "real" professional players is quite out of the question for my company.

as mike1 mentioned, it is in the spending of the VIRTs that allows an elite player to decide which league they wish to enter for the tenders.

perhaps all "WON VIRTs, excluding those won at the manager's ( and maybe director's) contest" can be considered as the registration criteria instead of unspent VIRTs? or even "WON" in the past 7 or 14 updates?

having different prizes for the tenders certainly may help the elite players to concentrate more on the more highly prized tenders, and i would like to congratulate admin with their effort and obvious attempts to make the tenders more fair.

If a competition in the professional league seems too complicated - VIRTs can be easily spent. Binding to the total number of earned VIRTs doesn’t give such freedom.

We can say that we actively monitor all going now tenders and actively listen to all discussions. P.S. Tomorrow tenders will be supplied by the old rules. The restrictions of registration will come into force on 27 January and of the debriefing on the update of 27th to 28th January.

Chris raises a good point in that what admin is trying to do with the separation of different tender levels is a good thing for the game and for the players.
It may seem like we complain all the time but we all want the same result, for the game to be successful. I can't speak for everybody but what I have seen is that most people do offer suggestions to try and be constructive.

VIRTs can be easily spent.

This is the exact reason Chris suggested binding to the total number of won VIRTs. There is nothing to keep the better players from spending VIRTs daily to keep winning the amateur tenders. The prizes are more attractive in the higher leagues but they will also be harder to win.

I like Chris' idea of counting all gained VIRTs from the last 7-14 days.

This is apparent in the changes that are made to the game, they usually solve/attempt to solve issues brought up by the players, and usually in a timely fashion.
One suggestion I have is to open the loop a little and increase the amount of information given out. It is OK to tell us what things are being worked on before the official announcement. I'm not sure if there may be language issues involved here or if admin doesn't want to give specifics in case there are problems which delay the work, but that won't matter to most players. As long as we know that issues are being worked on we can relax a little more and enjoy the game.

Great posts from everyone! It is great if our comments are not considered complaining but welcome as input and contribution to make the game even better. And i much appreciate that the administration is stepping forward, monitoring and responding to our input, changing and adding new stuff etc. It adds so much to the entertainment-value of virtonomics!

my contribution to this discussion would be the idea to additionally categorize the participants within their management qualification, and lower the bar for beginners, for example:

DAILY WIN Min MGMT MAX MGMT MIN VIRTS
TENDERS SUM
1 x > 5V ? 35 50
1 x 5V 5 25 25
1 x 4V 4 10 10
2 x 3V 6 15 25 5
3 x 2V 6 10 20
4 x 1V 4 5 15

- remarks
- 1 - 3 VIRT tenders exclude science or resource objects
- 1 - 2 VIRT tender winning not lost to administration if there is a unregistered, better result (= smaller tenders can be held in any city)
- every 4th 4V tender is a 2-day tender, every 3rd 5V tender is a 3-day tender

ideas for more accessibility and chance-leveling
- all registered participants visible on the tender list
- registration for tenders 3 days before tender date
- retail prices in stores of other players only visible after game update

more advanced ideas:
- for advanced tenders, min. for related qualification required, not only management. example 3-day tender of 100'000 requires commerce Qualification 25
- same as all other subdivisions, shop sizes couldn't be reduced in size (of course better we could reduce size of any enterprise)
- same as all other subdivisions, changing shop sizes will take time, even if its just 1 day per size

Yipeee !! i just won my first tender Very we!

it's a three day tender, so maybe that's why the big guns didn't bother to enter.

i've had the store in question for a long time, and had the market share in the city for weeks if not months before the tender.
would not have qualified with the new system (it's a 5 VIRT one), but the tender certainly took a lot of effort as well as all my production, to the detriment of my other stores, and the store in question maxed out my commercial Q to manage.

think admin trying to even the playing field is very good, especially with the 3 day tenders. the current set of winners may not have enough time (or indeed as many elite quality goods) to share around multiple tenders over multiple days.

counting total VIRTs won over 7-14 days sounds good to me, as does the setting of maximum management and/or commerce qualification. spending the virts allow the better players too MUCH freedom, and that freedom is not afforded the newer players.

to add my 2 bits (literally):
1) instead of disallowing the less established companies from entering tenders, it is more that the better companies should allow some space for the newer companies. the limit may be better placed on the 'higher levels of management and commerce' cannot register for the lower level stores like 100m, 500m and 1000m.

2) maybe a limit of total active tender entries may help - say any one company can only register for a maximum of 5 tenders at any one time

i think the intent of the tenders is to raise interest and participation. being disallowed to enter a tender because of it's prize or league would be most disheartening for players like myself. for the tender i won today, as stated, my store had been there for long time. i would have been very disappointed if i was not allowed to enter, and quite unhappy to lose... let the lower leagues enter if we wish, knowing our chances are not so good, but let the better players compete more to their own levels. let there be a "maximum qualification allowed for each tender".

if we all only have a maximum of active tenders, we can all try to enter the ones that we think we have a better chance at, and the prizes will be shared among more players

i just checked a tender that was entered before the announcement #555, a 3 day tender that should start counting from the next update.

have 2 potential problems with the above message:
1) would expect the restriction to registration to occur on 27 Jan, so ones already registered stays registered and i continue to be competitive with a chance of winning
2) think something went west in the translation for super-professional league players with prize < 3.

have been preparing my store for this tender, so just want admin to clarify first point.

2nd point belongs to the English problem and suggestion tread, but relates to my first concern.

The winner of VIRTs is the company with the stores which have the highest income from sales of the given product in the given city in the day of tendering.

Just wondering why this kind of tenders are set for amateurs? IMHO it would be more appropriate for professionals who have large stores with the highest incomes on the every week basis...

The best producer of the given resource wins VIRTs.
In order to be considered the best a company has to enter the top ten of the biggest producers and to have the highest weighted average quality of the produced resource.
All data concerning the production is taken into account in the day of the tendering. In case the quality is the same the winner is the company which has produced more of the resource.

On Lien realm there are very few players who have any mining production and all of them are professionals...

Tenders are generated in random order.
For a number of tenders has a small additional analysis of playability, but for most - simply random.
In the future, perhaps, the system will be improved, but there is no urgent need.

It means that prize of 1virt are for amateur only, for 3virts is for both amateurs and professional players and 5virts is for professional only.

Professional are players who could join tender with 3-5VIRTS prize
