Anybody willing to give me a quick course to get acquainted with the political business?
I am clueless...
 
What's needed to be a mayor? Very we!
 
Do i need a barn or a tent to get things going?
Again, very clueless about this whole business and wiki, well, never mind about that.

You need a tent for starting elections, and/or any generic villa in the city celebrating the elections to propose your candidates (or yourself as candidate).
 
Then, you need support from players and/or parties having a large amount of revenues from stores and sector services in that city. Enough support to counter those parties who like to vote "against all!", even when they don't propose their own candidates (anarquists can't, but this is not the case).
 
If you have a seat in the Council of that region, you might want to check the economy of that city first, just in case you have to cover a big deficit problem until you fix it. Check the World Map > any country > any region > Gobernor's Council and explore from there.

So i have 2 barns in 2 cities, i am starting to draw revenues in those cities, around a billion.
If the party leader (who's party i am in) initiates election, he can propose me as a candidate for a mayor, yes? It's not necessary that I have to have a tent to be a mayor. Is that correct?

the party's (vice) chairman will see the option to call for mayoral elections. For example in the "party in cities" tab.
 
To be clear: you don't need that tent yourself. If somebody in your party has a tent, that's enough to call for elections. Alternately, even if you buy the tent, the party (vice) chairman might still propose anybody else in the party for the elections. Or flatout refuse to call for elections in that city.
 
Before investing 10 points on a tent, please consult with some experienced politicians on the realm in question. Just to make sure you get the most out of the investment and to avoid nasty surprises.
 
And finally: yay, it's always great to have more people involved in politics this way. More mayors/governors make for a better virtonomics!

JN, i was looking forward to your comments cuz i read somewhere you're a mayor on mary.
 
So, all i need to do right now is build some revenue in the city and force the chairman/vice chairman to initiate elections?
