A year ago, my husband and I decided to open a grocery store. So, we made the calculations, wrote a business
plan, took a loan from the bank. And right at the very first steps, we realized that everything is much more
complicated, than we thought in the beginning. Also, we realized we lack real business skills, and that there is
no way back, and we can’t hire a manager. Adding to that, there was sim too much at stake: our dreams about
our business, self-confidence, credit. We accidentally found Virtonomics. And did not expect it to be that
exciting and, most importantly, useful. This does not seem to be either boring like theoretical books or abstract
like some workshops. This is a very realistic business simulation game, which makes it possible to experiment,
make mistakes, but without harm to your real business. For business greenhorns like us, this is the most useful
thing for training we managed to find.
We created a copy of our future store in the simulation and began to learn how to manage and develop our
virtual business. We made a lot of mistakes, made many attempts to start anew, and that's what saved us. We
learned from our own mistakes, but without risk to our real business, and that is the most valuable.
We finally decided to start the real thing, but only after we managed to get our virtual retail business profitable
three consecutive times in a row. Business simulation gave us real practical experience and a systematic
understanding of how business operates.
We saved tens of thousands of dollars and avoided making a lot of mistakes. I believe Virtonomics is an
experience any entrepreneur must gain; this is a fantastically effective tool. Our current business has reached a
sustainable profit, and we are opening a second store. Thanks, Virtonomics!
