I got this idea from from Aluminium: second life (actually JustNash brought it up)
In short
This service requires different products for different services. So if your doing a goods transport you will need trucks etc. If you want to do passenger transport you will need buses, cars etc.
Like other services in virtonomics you set the price. however it can be a fixed price per unit/passenger or it can be a variable as in more you ship or more passengers in a group less the price. Also distance between also takes into effect if the service provider wishes.
Long form
Factories required:
Truck Factory: Similar to Car Factory however a truck can use either steel (cheaper - no bonus) or Aluminium (with a quality bonus/uses a little less material), virtonomics already has everything else for a truck imo to produce it.
The Twist: Truck factories can produce different models at the same time. Example it can make a long hauler and a local hauler at the same time producing 2 different trucks at once. This will effect the number that can be produced of each (Total production number stays the same but is divided upon choice of the user, so 50/50 or 90/10 etc)
Train Factory: This would be a good idea for Mary due to the vast distances between countries. No new additional items required in game, to make a train you require either carbon fiber or aluminum and steel for the wheels. For trains higher the quality the more power it has. More power means faster and more material/passengers it can haul.
Trailer Factory: This factory can produce either train cars or truck trailer or a consumer trailer to sell to the public. Since wood is impossible to get no wood trailers. Instead trailers and train cars can be made using steel and/or aluminum with or with out carbon fiber as a shell (trailers only not train cars).
This factory can not make both transport trailers and consumer ones at the same time.
Train cars can hold more goods/passengers then transport trailers/buses
Bus Factory: In short it is a lot like a truck but requires about 3 times the material depending on the size of bus. 3 bus sizes Small (holds about 15) Middle (holds about 30-35) and Large (65-70)
Services Provided
Goods Transport Service
In short this is for companies that buy and sell goods to other companies. Size depends on your Qualification. Higher it is the bigger the truck/bus lot or train yard (or both) can be. The base size should be able to hold 500 trucks or 10-20 trains with about 300 train cars, or a combination of 250 trucks 5-10 trains with 150 train cars (50/50). The 50/50 makes it simply easier. You can own 20% more trains and buses then above as they can be moving around the game world at any specific time. You can also own upwards to 30% of trailers and train cars as they can be left at manufactures place/warehouses
Choice: I thing it would be a good idea to require at least 1 Transport location per region in order to serve those cities. This means if you have a location in region A and not in region B you can not ship to region B at all. So if someone needs to ship from A to A and your cheaper you can, however if the item requires to be shipped from A to B you will not even show up in the list
If you have a train only service with out a additional Truck one in the same region/city you will require to higher a 3rd party in the areas to transport the goods to and from your train yard.
Also if you are a train only service it is possible to serve the same region/city however you need 2 locations in different cities. then you can serve the whole region.
Quantity per trailer: The quantity that can be put into each trailer should vary from item to item. Example Grain or milk can be shipped in mass quantities but items as cars can only be shipped in small quantities (at most 10 per trailer).
Passenger service
Just like Goods its basically the same principle. but not trucks and just buses.
