I wish to get advice regarding equipment and upgrades/repairs.
 
I received various companies from "My Beloved Uncle" when I started the game.
One company was Sausage Factory. It has 100 equipment with Quality of 5.28.
 
I have not added more equipment yet, because I need to understand it first.
I see that the only supplier for equivalent Quality (5.34) is very expensive. (69 235.01$)
 
If I buy cheap, I can get equipment of Quality level 1.00 - but obviously this will reduce my overall quality.
Is this good or bad? Will this affect my productivity ratings?
Should I try to preserve the current quality that I have, or should I add rather 100 piece of equipment of Quality 1.00?
 
Then I also want to know about repairs. Is repairs like replacing a complete piece of equipment?
When should repairs be done?
My current status says "Equipment wear 0.57 % (1 pcs.)"
If I try to repair with quality 5.34 it also cost (69 235.01$)
 
Advice will be appreciated very much.

Try to experiment. Find equipment with best quality/price ratio.
Equipment with lower quality will reduce your equipment efficiency parameter, but if u have high top manager qualification, work efficiency can still be 100% or about. But u can reach highest product quality only with that(5.28) equip quality. Anyway formulas are not published, so u have to experiment.

Is repairs like replacing a complete piece of equipment?
yes
 
i dunno if it is the right way to replace, but i replace when there is more than 1 pcs to replace

I do not have high top management qualifications. I am new.
So, as a complete newbie, do I preserve the quality of the equipment, or go for volume and worry about quality later in my career?

Most important is to keep your production efficient so to gain qualification. you'll be fine with 4.72 equipment, its best to include all factors efficiency/volume/quality in your strategy

You are the beginner in game. And consequently qualification in manufacture is too low. To buy to mix machine tools of quality 5 with quality 1 it is impossible. You will lose in efficiency. Also receive lower on quality and dear ready product.
