Hi Guys,
 
Just started playing the game last week, and have a problem wrt the quality of my product manufactured in the Factory.
 
The Factory specialization values are :
 
Specialization Clothes
Technology level 3
Quality of production 4.17
 
And yet, the output quality of the product is only 2.04.
 
1) Please let me know as to how the quality of the finished product can be increased from 2.04
2) Would also appreciate some tips on increasing the production quantity as well. Will simply increasing the number of workplaces achieve this?

In order to achieve max quality, you need 2 things more.
 
1: your factory to be 100% efficient, not max workers, but equipment and workers efficiency. The fact you just started means it should be unless you changed something.
2: your production resources (example grain for the cows) has to be the optimal quality. This is shown in the production tab in red font if the resources are below the optimal quality.
 
Chances are you're doing just fine,  maybe a little low on workers efficiency.
I'm guessing it's your weaving mill you're asking about? If so you can try to run a small sheep farm, it might provide the extra quality boost needed.
 
If you really wanted to get better quality items you could buy paid resources (cotton farms would produce max quality for tech as long as equipment/workers efficiency is at 100%), but I strongly suggest trying it as a free player for at least 30 days.

How can I increase soil fertility?

by increasing tech, thats the only way, except you buy a new unit and sell off the lower fertility one ...
