Mike and I are working on a project to repost information on qualification in an up-to-date/organized/clear manner.

For example, the title of this thread says qualification. Do I mean player qualification or employee qualification? That simple question has confused players for years when trying to read qualification tables and we aim to solve that problem among others.

So please, post here what you would like to see in the new thread, what should be consolidated in one place, what needs to be explained in a clearer manner, and what questions you have. We may not address all of it, but your input will help us immensely.

VVlord, Nash, Mo, other vets. Any help on this project is appreciated.

I will probably post some drafts of the information here and then set-up a new thread for the final product.

Very nice initiative!

Most guides are created by pro players, which is perfectly fine, because they know all the logics of course. But simplistic explanations from a pro, might still be very complicated for a newbie, which usually causes the troubles for new players or in worse cases losing the whole interest for playing the game.

I think it might be a good idea, if a completely new player will be involved in your project. So the approaches from the pro's are combined with the fresh vision of a newbie. A bit of an ambitious suggestion, since I don't think it's easy to find some newbie to be involved in this. To you

i actually think NoGlues guide is pretty good, i'd start from there, remove outdated and add missing stuff. There was a similar guide made by VLLord which may contain further input.

The subject is one of the most complex ones in the game though its really just about reading and re-reading NoGlues post and make sure to understand it.

The problem of getting lost with the qualification is that the game itself doesn't provide guides, the user has to be guided to install XS and the "personal qualification" scripts to get a clearer picture and even then, is being left in the dark about the cause and percentage of actual qualification penalties. I consider this a crucial issue to be improved in the game.

Finally, i think a new, up-to-date qualification guide should be placed into the WIKI rather than the FAQ because they are really overcrowded now.

Well, as a dirty guideline, I would suggest the next main points:

-Qualification limitations for number of workers and their skills. (I always use "Player = Qualification, workers = skill", so it doesn't confuse that much.)

-Hidden capacity values (number of workers TOP3, and their skill TOP1) for maxing qualification growth.

-Hidden growth 5% penalty.

-Max handleable tech level.

-As a sidenote: Equipment quality and how it affects the required skill for workers and the enterprise efficiency.

I guess I'm not missing anything...

Maybe the link to the Xio Script, I have it now a few days and its a really helpful tool.
With that and reading a lot of post in the forum im starting to understand the Top 1, top3 story.

the first value in the brackets is the multiplier of the other tops based on medicine/fishingbase.
Not sure whats the second value there, i think top1 and top3 multipliers are the same but you can easily verify that
according to your qualification with XS installed.

Does anyone know of a reason / concern NOT to install XS, which makes it reasonable to bother with these numbers and tables?

I do think this information is needed outside XS. I can't have the script installed at work. Also, I think of it like teaching a kid math. You could just hand him the calculator and say don't worry about how it works. Or, like every school in the world, you can make the kid learn all the boring concepts so he (she) knows what's going on.

Here is something from me. How much more exp you need with certain levels of collected penalty

Qualification up with penalty 1 = 100%
Qualification up with penalty 5 = 127%
Qualification up with penalty 10 = 162%
Qualification up with penalty 15 = 207%
Qualification up with penalty 20 = 265%
Qualification up with penalty 25 = 338%
Qualification up with penalty 30 = 432%
Qualification up with penalty 35 = 551%
Qualification up with penalty 40 = 700%

For example if you went from 1 to 26 (25 levels) for your management qualification you going to need 338% experience of what you would need if you didn't have growth penalty. So if your growth on 26 is +4% per day, when you get rid of this penalty, it will be x3.38 = 13.52% per day. Each new level you will get 3 times faster and spend 7 days to get +1 instead of 25 days

Another way to think about it. Let's say your growth is +10% and it is equal to +100 experience points per day. Normally you would need 1000 exp to get to new level but imagine that you have 20 levels of growth with penalty. Now you will need 1000*2.65 = 2650 experience points and your growth would be only 100 / 2650 = +3.7% instead of +10% you would have without this penalty

Penalty doesn't slow down your actual growth (amount of experience points you gaining every day) but it increase required amount of experience to reach a new level

It is not 100% confirmed but it seems to be true
I used this formula: exp=1.05^Q

thanks for mentioning this sound reason. My practical approach isn't meant to question the scientific value of these well-designed tables.

There is a conditional deviation to take into consideration: increasing player qualification reduces requirements.
Example: Player qualification 210: T25 requires 38.62 equipment and maxed out worker qualification /Top 1 of 19.11 with 5000 workers.

Mike, I'm not sure how to work that into the chart. There are multiple player qualification levels per column. Any ideas? I may just have to leave this info as a baseline and footnote equipment quality requirement shrinks as player qualification increases.

Also, are you saying minimum worker qualification shrinks as player qualification rises as well? If so, are you saying that because minimum equipment quality is reduced, this then requires less employee qualification?

i think it depends on the intended purpose of this table. A deviation of 20% seems pretty serious,
it might be good to know how it is on qualification levels 50 and 100, for example?

lower quality equipment definitely requires lower qualification of workers. On the other hand, higher technology requires higher player qualification, so maybe it doesn't matter? To be honest, i’ve never used a Top1 table because it contains minimum requirements but to optimise qualification growth higher values are required.

Does XS give the answer you look for to optimize qualification growth or does it provide an answer that is more in line with the qualification tables?
