Since I am mayor in 7 cities and govenor in 3 different regions and I am VChairmain of a supersized party I start this thread to first of all give a better understanding of politics (the big picture). To raise a discussion on different opinions about political management. I have a very close look on mary what is beeing done and not politically and too be honest utter chaos (in the sense of world economy) is a mild expression for whats happening.
 
To maybe reach a consensus to what city and countries should follow what strategy to have a balanced world economy.
 
Part1: Understanding
All countries and areas are basically set to deteriorate. The only way this can be prevented is politics.
The growth of an economy of a country can only be fully guaranteed when all political positions -pres. - govs- -mayors are in office.
 
Expl a: Cities are negative budget and dropping fast. Region of gov is positive and country is negative in budget.
Govenor would have to raise contributions to country and to region dev. President would have to raise developement of the country. All cities without mayor grow and the city where there is a mayor grows faster in the result. City budgets are becoming positive and a country rises.
 
Expl b: City is positive and region is negative and country negative. Mayors must further increase sales to raise tax income to the region and increase contributions to the region. There should be as many mayors at work in the country to achieve faster stabelisation of the country.
 
Basically, every country and every region should be set to grow, to help world economy, since only then retail markets expand.
So setting contributions right is essential.
Only a govenor who is in office for a long time can really and strongly change something for the better.
 
short term opportunism has no place in this game... since its only hurting world economy, but since its a business game all kinds of minds are at start here. Yes, I am talking about market resellers who dont add much to economy rather than raising prices for their own profit.
 
Different Strategies:
 
The full growth strategy.
To enact everything to make the city or the area grow as fast as possible. In some cases popularity drop would be the result, which would not matter in a peaceful environment. With opportunists at hand who only want  to prevent growth this can go a bit slower since recources are required to deal with them, that could be better spent in other areas.
Thats my strategy (Rhodes is now 1.5 times the market, budget, value, than it was before I came into office.)
Cant do that in some areas fully now since trolls are waiting for popularity to drop. (good job troll).
 
The staller: Just be mayor out of reputation and give a fly. Set contributions for party to high and wait for the money to roll in from a positive city or region. If the region is still positive some things are enacted, the cities are left to die.
 
The exploiter (find out who does this on mary yourself): Choose the best regions and countries with the highest revenues and exploit them as much as possible. Here only 1 or a view countries would be enough to make good profit that feeds the govenor with virts. Let go of all cities and regions that dont produce enough profit. Basically pull from poor regions the low production costs and add to own riches in better regions.
 
Basically these are the main strategies that are beeing followed right now in Mary and to be honest ... it sucks donkeyballs.
 
This way half the economy is sucked dry by only very little people.
Some post some social posts about making things better in the small picture. Some fail to see anything at all and only build what its worth building. Some are outraged by the political power some partys have and need to go against that.
 
I personally dont mind if everyone who is doing politics would earn from it. As long as the budget of a political area is positive overall and the country rises. Dropping markets with fat sponsorship for the party is garbage, but it has been done by some and is still going on in big scale by some.
 
Where are my trolls?? Of course in a political landscape there need to be some who dont understand anything and only have their paranoia. These people hurt economy aswell as the exploiters.
 
The final question is ... can we reach consensus.... here I would like ALL also the silent ones to engage in discussion.
 
City level: Can we reach the consensus that no matter if the budget is positive that 3% city growth is enacted in all cities at all times?? Thats the safe way to enhance a market... for all.
Governement Level: Animal husbandry and Farm support in harvest time, should be enacted always.
Presidential: Law on Service and Catering ON at all times.
 
Level 2: All Presidents and Govenors reach the consensus that its GOOD to have a growing region and do anything they can too achieve this. subsides to cities, contributions to the next instance. First have positive budget on all levels and only then enact sponsership of parties.
 
Level 3: World political leaders manage to decide on salery and education level in all countries and cities. Since quality constantly rises in the economy its questionable if there should be too many low salary countries.
The way it is right now is that there are production countries so people can max their own profit to sell in retail countries for a high price.
The bigger the economy gets (like in US) the more people will produce more locally and sell locally. Right now on mary there are huge shipping expenses to shift political weight where transport costs feed the rich.
We can actually make polls to decide on that once sense in all is established. (thats a dream).
 
Level 4: Multiparty consortiums decide on systematically enhancing regions (cloud 9)
 
Can we change something for the better??!? Can we...?? this game is very obvious about its data.
And instead of doing a prevention tactic lets try to talk??!
 
To my suggestion for all not envolved in politics... be successful, join a party with villas at hand, become mayor and take good care of the city.
 
And before another troll goes yeehaw again: Check the ammount that was spent by main partys to enhance world economy (villas ammount, prices). Logic: Many villas = much money spent to beeing even able to enhance growth in the economy.
(check political finance) What party has a positive party budget?? - quick hint... not us.
(check what countries are beeing governed) to find out who is expoiting and who is supporting.
(check what political programs are enacted in country regions and cities.)
well you could check market developement stats too but then you are a geek ;)
 
And if you are in office in any region.... enact political programs and contribute...

I think its great that your party has such a clear and transparent strategy.
 
On the other hand, even as in this game it all comes comes down to zeros and ones, i appreciate the difference between playing with my calculator, and playing virtonomics: Apart from all the numbers and icons there are real persons behind the player accounts. Real persons with different backgrounds, varying ideas, dreams and ways to approach things. Above all: humans who are here to have fun and play a game with others.
 
I strongly believe that only respect of diversity,  individuality and free speech can lead to an environment where everyone is able to focus on the own happiness and fulfilment of individual dreams, and a reflection of those values back to the community as a whole.

diversity is what makes us human... otherwise we would be all clones, wouldnt we ;)
 
anyways, i do respect the approach and ideas people have, nevertheless, what kept us living together on this planet is consensus. And I would apreciate if all people who are in office and there are hopefully many more to come reach a certain consensus at least when it comes to raising countries or playing for our common good.... more economy.
 
I dont mind if someone is a good player to maximize his profits, but for the sake of his popularity and for his own long term pocket everyone in office should be interested to expand the market or keep the level low for production.
 
I am no mental who is trying to fight socialist wars for workers rights here... they all pixels, but I am thinking in the sense of the game.
 
Sure one could midterm see a good profit in raping countries and to finish playing in 2 months, but thats to my understanding not the sense.
Also in a form of highend warfare one could leave all bad countries to your opponents. Well thats also quite visible and obvious.
 
And in countries that are poor, like greece or areas in mexico it would be direly needed to develope since with the deteriorating state it doesnt help neither the market nor the production.
 
And I am talking in common.... if you have the responsibility for a city ...
 
@ mike I am totally about the idea of party diversity in regions, personally I dont care if player a or b is doing a good job in his office. But letting cities just sit there or watch whole regions deteriorate, I have to admit I dont like so much especially since I use a lot of my recources to raise some unwealthy cities.
 
And I am clearly disturbed by people who obviously have the financial power and just let things rot. Like capital cities without any municipal programs on.... or side cities in areas with 90% of 80% deterioration rate - berlin and east germany I was talking about. When there is no reaction to PMs about political suggestions. Expensive farms produce 10% less quality and animals are feeding more than producing.
 
I surely am no political police or anything, but I am govenor and I take my job seriously and both mexico and greece are still in a state of ecological catastrophy, I talked to fratello already and he agrees with my ideas about greece, but its not only the govenors that need to pull on one string together.... also the mayors and the president ... we all need to work together especially in a diverse invironment. Also Moolator told me his concern for the region PC&ElBajo, there a change already happend, subsides went up a bit and if it goes up one more time region cities are having a chance to thrive again.
 
And I am not only concerned about other peoples regions, I promise I do my best to develope all Nice territory for the best of the economy and also for your profit mike. (Work in progress).
 
We should work together when its coming to presidency and we should work together when territories are extended.
 
The more the merrier and I truely like cooperation with as many people or parties as possible, as long as there is a mutual form of respect for each other, everything can be discussed even with totally opposing aproaches.

Example - the city of Bamako in Mali. Before yesterday I announced it to your boss-speculator impeachment, he was sitting there on a flat ass and doing nothing. He was not running any urban project. This is one of the top industrial cities. Logically there to raise education and reduce wages. According to the results of the year in Bamako increased salary and did not change the level of education. Question: How is it that the city take? To reach the other? this is a nice example of what Mike said. Every player has his own individual view on things. Personally: I favor the approach of not raising education indices and raising salary expectations for a city like Bamako. The report between salaries and education is already very attractive. Hence the low unemployment and high immigration numbers. Imo - and I consider myself to be neutral in this feud - the mayor's actions are appropriate in this particular situation.
 
And now back to the topic at hand: a long time ago - when I was still in politics - I also dreamt of harmonious global projects that were to the benefit of everybody. As is shown with the example above: we all have different takes. That's not saying it's impossible, but it definitely wouldn't be easy. You'd need some sort of common enemy; that usually works well in bringing different people together...

@ justnash, I think you are right in this case. Bamako sure needs tweeking but not necessarily raise of salary since there is a whole bunch of cheap production located there.
 
also I like you social dynamic approach. I am trying differently. We have weeded out the corporation and we have some quite promising self responsible members now who participate and work together, most still learn.
But through the party I am trying to get as many different people into mayors office.
 
Like Antaza Coinz who is probably the first female mayor on mary (I know how that sounds).
or catalonia empires who is taking on his second mayor position.
 
I want Luis to be able to concentrate on the big issues and all cities well taken care of..... and thats a process (takes time)
 
And, yes thats why I started this thread.... to bring your opinions to surface.
 
I am trying to create a list of cities where salary stops and eductation level must stay low.
In most countries there are only 2 cities worth retailing ... in otheres there are many....
 
Lets put our heads together and get something to work with, even though we dont have a common enemy, right at this moment.

For example, the salary and the level of education can be interpreted in two ways.
The city with the environment issues. But the mayor Luisku do not care. expansion of the city could solve the problem with gastraybayterami. But the city does not do anything.

Your company holds 78.5% ($296m out of $377m) of city retal market  and you consider it's a success for your strategies? All I see is that you have nothing to say, only empty claims and pointing your finger toward my friends for all their long time efforts with best of intentions. I cant keep silent and digest all these rubbish anymore.

I do not really understand the relation of your above statements with Nice's actual political activities, MM.
 
For example Mesopotamia and Sierras Pampeanas, it contains one of the most profitable cities in the whole realm - Buenos Aires - but the region sucks 3 Billion every day from the country budget to cover it's losses.
 
Another example is Central Mexico which draws 1.7 Billion from the country and drags the country budget into the red.
 
Or, why the country contributions for the development, education etc in the UK and Greece are reduced to 90 % or less?
 
On a side-note, did anyone notice that almost everyone just recently re-elected an inactive player for another term of Governor in Denmark and Pomerania and Greater Poland?

I will not even talk about the whole piddly stuff here and the trolling.... such things should be taken care of by adminstration, which they most likely will.
 
Anyways: Politcs was more or less just released, the factor of presidency even later. NOT one city region or country at this moment is set correctly, which is not possible since its takes a lot of legislation years to get even close to having something set up correctly. So stop bringing up examples of one city that is not set right, cant be done more than x% percent per year. Wont be done with some even till next year or the year after... reason:
 
During this period profitable regions balance the budget of unprofitable regions, by contribution. The question is not if party contributions are on and off, if the party budget and political expenses are as negative as the one of Nice Party everyone should just reconsider his thinking... the money that goes into that is not barable for any normal player.
 
Luisk is 90% of Nice, check his assets, check his expenses. He pays more every day than any 1 of our members is worth in assets. Just from 1 account, his account. All there ... all obvious!
 
What I am trying to achieve with this post, is not plenty of trolling. But a open discussion what should be done in the future.
 
And I am just raising the question if it is possible to reach a certain consensus with all the differences of the political landscape and also its a question who is even able to talk in a respectful manner about details and issues.
Who is not mature enough to speak respectfully should not have a place in the political landscape, thats what we took care of and yes that required taking each and the last city and region from Allied Democrats and their friends who support the uglyness of the communication climate. And yes we will continue to do that and then, one step after the other, decide what should be done in the big picture and where our regions should go in and interweaving network of common profit.
 
Maybe we can even convince Forum adminstration to make a pinned thread about state affairs where every country or region gets their own thread where political wishes can be expressed and answered. Just an idea... we can just talk here too for now.... constructively.... how about that for a change??
