Today we introduce a number of new revolutionary features to encourage team play in Virtonomics!
From now on corporations will give a significant advantage to all its members. Meet the corporate certificates!
 
Basically certificates are a new game currency which can be earned by players for certain achievements. They can be spend in multiple ways including personal and corporate kinds.
 
Certificates turnover rules
I. How to earn certificates? (To corporate account)

  • Welcoming bonus to all new corporations: 200 certificates;
  • 5 certificates per each game point spend;
  • 10 certificates for each victory in tenders (1st place in professional league, any place with a reward in amateur league);
  • Daily certificates for archiving following goals: world leader in retail (5 certificates), all leaders in retail by country (3 certificates), the best fuel seller (10 certificates), all service sector leaders by revenue (3 certificates);
  • 100 certificates for researching top level technology which was previously unknown in the realm. The first researcher of a new technology bring to his corporation 100 certificates; if the technology was researched by multiple players they share the reward;
  • 100 certificates for completing each IV level quest by any member of a corporation;
  • 50 certificates when a member of a corporation reaches 31th level of any qualification (each qualification is rewarded separately). Qualification value without bonuses is taken into account. This can be achieved by natural growth or by qualification purchase.

II. Certificates distribution

  • Certificates are stored in the corporation, all members can see the accumulated amount of certificates, managing members (President, Vice-president, Deputy President) can see log and all transfers (who earned, how many and when);
  • Managing members can spent and distribute certificates. Certificates can be spend on corporate projects (see article V) or distributed among corporate members (see article III);
  • If a corporation did not spend or distribute certificates in last 26 days (game turns/updates) all certificates will disappear.
You can manage corporate certificates from the page: My company / Corporation / Certificates.
 
III. Corporate certificates distribution for personal use

  • Types of distributions depends on corporation level (see article V);
  • Managing members (President, Vice-president, Deputy President) are responsible for distribution;
  • Corporations with level less than 5 can only distribute 100% of accumulated certificates equally among corporate members. Non whole numbers rounding down to the next lowest number. Here and further: players without company and bankrupts do not participate in distribution;
  • Corporations with level less than 11 can distribute 100% or 50% corporate certificates. Also they can distribute 50% certificates equally (proportionality) and 50% will be distributed according to amount of certificates earned in last 52 game updates;
  • Corporations with have more than or equal to 11th level can distribute a certain percent (10, 20, etc. %) of accumulated certificates and they can set how many certificates should be distributed equally and how many certificates shall be distributed according to earning;
  • If a player did not spent his certificates in last 52 days they will disappear;
  • Undistributed due to rounding certificates will be transferred back to corporation account.

IV. Use of personal certificates

  • A player can speed up construction or subdivisions' updating process by spending certificates;
  • Certificates can be spend on company logo or on any Corporate VIP-service (Corporate Villas, Corporate Research, etc.);
  • You can purchase a corporate «chest / set» (see article VI);
You can manage personal certificates from the page: Cabinet / Game points / Certificates.
 
V. Corporate projects
Number of available corporate projects directly depends on corporation level which is determined by the total number of certificates spent by corporation from the beginning.  
 
1st level. (basic) Specialization "Quality": +1% production quality bonus to all members of the corporation. Cost: 300 certificates, duration 26 updates;
2. (Total spending from 300, no other requirements) Specialization "Cost effective power plants": Reducing consumption of fuel by 25% in Oil-fired and Coal-fired power plants owned by members of the corporation. Cost: 500 certificates, duration 26 updates;
3. (Total spending from 500, no other requirements) Specialization "Elite livestock": +5% livestock quality bonus to all members of the corporation. Cost: 750 certificates, duration 26 updates;;
4. (Total spending from 750, no other requirements) Specialization "Elite fishing ": +15% bonus to quality of fishing products produced by corporate members in fishing based. Cost: 750 certificates, duration 26 updates;;
 
5. (Total spending from 500, no other requirements, last permanent level) This level opens access to corporate logo. Also corporation gets access to extended algorithm of corporate certificates distribution.;
6. (Total spending from 500, level 1 villa, Top-25 «Rating of corporation by total number of certificates») Presidents and deputy presidents get an awards with +1 bonus to management qualification. Specialization: Bachelors: Gives a special award to all members of the corporation with +2 bonus to chosen qualifications. 14 different projects for each qualification. Cost: 1000 certificates, duration 52 updates;;
7. (Total spending from 6000, level 1 villa, Top-25 «Rating of corporation by total number of certificates») Specialization "Government procurement": Bonus +25% to final quality of products which can be sold to government (yachts, airplanes, diesel fuel) produced by corporate members. Cost: 2500 certificates, duration 52 updates;;
8. (Total spending from 12000, level 2 villa, Top-25 «Rating of corporation by total number of certificates») Specialization "Ores and oil": Bonus +25% to final quality of extracted resources from mines and wells to all corporate members. Cost: 5000 certificates, duration 52 updates;;
9. (Total spending from 18000, level 2 villa, Top-25 «Rating of corporation by total number of certificates») Specialization "Researches": Bonus +5% to research speed in all laboratories owned by members of the corporation. Cost: 5000 certificates, duration 52 updates;;
10. (Total spending from 27000, level 3 villa, Top-25 «Rating of corporation by total number of certificates») Specialization: Masters: Gives a special award to all members of the corporation with +5 bonus to chosen qualifications. 14 different projects for each qualification. Cost: 7500 certificates, duration 78 updates;;
 
11. (Total spending from 36000, level 3 villa, Top-10 «Rating of corporation by total number of certificates») No new projects. Presidents and vice-presidents receive an award with +3 bonus to management qualification. In addition to that corporation gets the most flexible access to certificates distribution for personal use of corporate members.;
12. (Total spending from 45000, level 4 villa, Top-10 «Rating of corporation by total number of certificates») Specialization "Selling technologies": Doubles maximum number of technologies and licences which corporate members can put on sale. Cost: 5000 certificates, duration 78 updates;;
13. (Total spending from 60000, level 5 villa, Top-10 «Rating of corporation by total number of certificates») Specialization "Strategic resources": +25% output bonus to farms, plantations, sawmills and fishing bases to all members of the corporation. Cost: 7500 certificates, duration 78 updates;;
14. (Total spending from 75000, level 6 villa, Top-10 «Rating of corporation by total number of certificates») Specialization: elite: Gives a special award to all members of the corporation with +10 bonus to chosen qualifications. 14 different projects for each qualification. Cost: 10000 certificates, duration 78 updates;;
15. (Total spending from 100000, level 7 villa, Top-3 «Rating of corporation by total number of certificates») Permanent award to all corporate members without bonuses. Specialization: Demiurges": Gives a special award to all members of the corporation with +25 bonus to chosen qualifications. 14 different projects for each qualification. Cost: 25000 certificates, duration 104 updates;.
 
VI. Corporate bonus sets
Unique bonus sets which can be purchased only for certificates. They will appear in the game in near future.
 
Additional information
 
As you may have noticed there is a new feature to load corporate logo. This feature is free, to use it your corporation must reach level 5.
 
New corporate ratings.
Corporate rating by number of certificates earned in last 52 updates. All earned certificates are taken into account including welcoming bonus and certificates earned by members who left the corporation. This rating shows current success. Position in this rating is taking into account when corporate level is determined.
 
Rating of corporation by level and number of spent certificates. Certificates consider to be spent when they distributed between members of the corporation or used for corporate projects. This rating does not have time restrictions, all spending from the first day of existence of a corporation are taken into account.
 
Currently it is a testing period of this new corporate features. It will continue until mid of August and than we might do small re-balancing.
 
We launching this update on Wednesday, 06 of July.

Your feedback will be appreciated because this is an alpha-version of the update.
 
What do you think about:
 
- Ways to get certificates. Is this fare to big/small corporations? Maybe you think that numbers should be different or that there should be more ways to earn certificates? Especially for small corporations and for new players.
- Projects. They might be re-balanced so we need your thoughts on it. Is something too expensive or too cheap? Are durations fine? Is there some projects that you are sure you not going to ever use? (Why so? Because of the price?) Should some projects be more powerful or weaker?
- Is leveling system fine? (If you understood it Cheerfully ).
- What other way you'd propose to spend personal certificates?
- Anything else you'd like to add.
 
I know you didn't have chance to test everything yet but just share your thought even before that because by the time you'd reach proper level they might already finish alpha-test and make some changes.
 
The current system seems to be mostly beneficial to big top corporations which i think is fine but small corps in top 5-15 also should have ways to earn certificates and to get some bonuses for team play. So what should we do to make it possible?
 
Also the system should motivate old corporations to invite new players because there are few ways how they can earn certificates (quests lvl 4, qualification increase from 30 to 31 (only ones) and armature league tenders). I think there  should be more ways for new players to earn corporate certificates, what can they be?
 
Lastly, there are few projects based on player feedback to fix current a bit broken areas (fishing, mining and electricity). Are they useful from your point of view? Is 8 and 13 too powerful? Is 12 a bit broken (you can guess how you can abuse it).

For an intermediate (5-15) corporation like ours, on Mary, personal certificates will always vanish before we can pile up 500 of those. Our daily gain is limited (10-20 per update) and we may not be able to launch more than one of the first 5 corporation projects before vanishing deadline (26 updates). The small remaining should be transferred to personal accounts at the end of each period and our small personal accounts will also vanish in 52 updates before we can collect 500 personal certificates; we won't even get close to 500.
 
Maybe we, and other corporations of similar size, should "go get strong" and this is intentionally designed to make people move their arses. Whatever it is, i think making personal certificates permanent is an alternative.
 
Edit:
Please let all members see the details of "history of operations". Disabling has no merits imo.

I do not understand why is to remove unused certificates. Their surprising number at this rate will never reach the receiving too much importance. And they spent very quickly on today's prices for corporate projects.

I agree.  Removing certs for small corps really hurts them.  Maybe just remove insane amounts the big corps could collect over time?

The big corporations will get many certificates and will be able to use them, while those few certificates of smaller corporations will go down the drain. I also think the certificates shouldn't disappear.
 
And they're difficult to get for smaller companies and corporations.
 
If you look at the top 20 corporations after 2 days, in terms of certificates gained, here it is :
1) 830
2) 753
3) 441
4) 341
5) 165
6) 155
7) 125
8) 103
9)  81
10) 41
11) 26
12)  6
13)  6
14)  6
15)  6

It benefits the biggest, as always. Which means those who have the biggest companies among their members. This new feature doesn't balance the game at all. It gives them more advantages, while they don't really need them.
 
And remember, corporations have limited membership, depending on the management qualification level of the president. You can't add as many members as you want to reach a critical point : at some point you're stuck because of the size of your corporation.
 
I also don't like the idea that you must use the certificates first on a corporation project and only after that you can distribute what's left. Because for some corporations, there won't be many certificates left, if at all. Many corporations won't reach the first plateau of 300 certificates in 26 days.
 
And I see another potential problem. Since points can be gained by being retail leader, markets will be stormed like never before. Constantly.

I agree that the certificates shouldn't disappear.  I doesn't really encourage teamwork, if you all pull together, simply to see your rewards slip down the drain or be forced to use the certificates on a lesser prize that you would otherwise have targeted.  
 
If they must disappear, perhaps it should be done at a rate, proportionate to the size of the corporation.

1. Corp Level 5 opens "Access to extended algorithm of corporate certificates distribution":
 
a. there are two sliders to distribute certificates, moving them doesn't display any number.
 
b. access to move the first slider to 3 positions : left, middle and right hand side =  0, half or all certificates can be distributed.
 
c. access to move the second slider to either left or right hand side, = 0 or all certificates can be distributed.
 
Unclear: "Percentage of certificates to be distributed proportionally to earned amount", does that mean earned by player, or is is an alternative/complementary function to slider 1?
 
2. For the interested: Cost for project Nr 6 are PER QUALIFICATION, e.g. 1000 certificates only unlock ONE qualification.
 
3. expiry of certificates
any expense will restart the counter of 26 days e.g. unspent certificates can be kept as long as the cheapest project is executed once every 26 days (Accordingly, after unlocking level 5, half the certificates can be converted to personal certificates to restart counter to expiry of unspent certificates).
 
4. I'd like to see a summary of today's earned certificates separately, rather than the summary with amount brought forward. Keeping historical summary of earned certificates per player and overall would provide a corporation with the  necessary tool to set achievement targets within and for the corporation (and manage members)

Even so, at the current cost of projects we'll hardly ever be able to enable anything above project Nr 9, including maybe just one item of project 6, and 0 distribution of certificates.
 
It may be to easy for a powerful corp to harvest certificates but its similarly easy for new players who can bring 3000-5000 certificates. Considering the limited amount of active players in mary realm and the possible combination (of large player and new player) it seems rather difficult to find a key for distributing certificates evenly.  
 
IMHO the top 20 corps should be able to constantly enable 35-55% of projects in order to make this programme a fun thing. For this to happen, certificate harvesting and cost need to be a lot more generous.
 
Meanwhile, i am surprised about how much calculation time was obviously allocated for this function, considering that, according to the administration, a simple move-to-storage of daily country and regional budgets for 30 days would be taking an unreasonable amount of that time and therefore has no chance to be implemented.

Kind of sounds like a US republican who says the rich have it bad too man. The game is a free market economy, so rich and poor attitudes need to be kept happy. But the poor 99% are not feeling bad for the rich or for your corp.
