On Wednesday, March 9, Virtonomics going to have a massive game update which includes: new country, new agricultural business and other interesting features!
 

Poland
 
We adding a big European country - Poland
 
Total population of Poland is 38 484 mil.
 
Country has 3 administrative regions: Mazovia and Little Poland, Pomerania and Wielkopolska and Silesia.

One of the most important national crops going to growth there - potatoes.
Poland has some mineral resources as well: Coal, copper and iron ore
 
Very soon Agricultural Union of the new country planning to launch a massive program of regional development which supposed to have a positive effect for Polish economy. Wait for the announcement!
 

Potatoes
 
Poland will appear in all realms, Mary and Lien going to have a new agricultural product Potatoes!
 
Potatoes mainly used in livestock farms as animal feed. 11 new specializations for Livestock farms will be added so you can use potatoes for any kind of animal farm.
 
In addition to that there are some other areas where you can use potatoes:
 
- In Mary a new product is Instant food
- Mary and Lien going to have a new specialization in restaurants - Fried Chicken
 

Beekeeping
 
We couldn't ignore active lobbying of a new livestock business area. Our players made it clear - they have been really passionate about adding beekeeping and we decided to do that. Today we announce Beekeeping industry for all realms!
 
Basically Apiaries are very similar to other livestock subdivisions in terms of interface and functionality.
 
Apiaries "Equipment" is Bees
 
"Animal feed" / consumables for Apiaries is Wax foundation
 
Beekeeping products depend on apiaries specialization (4 different specializations: Collecting honey, pollination of crops, medicinal beekeeping and reproduction of bee families):
Bees
Honey (retail product)
Beeswax
Royal jelly (retail product)
 
Also there are two additional products which you can obtain by manufacturing
Wax foundation (Made in new factory)
Cosmetic masks (Product for stores)
 
Some old factories going to get new specializations which use beekeeping products:
Honey Cake
Honey flakes
Honey candies
Medovukha (beer)
Honey jam
Polishing (cleaning products)
Anti-Aging Cream (Cosmetics)
Bee medicinal ingredients (natural honey products)
 
Independent supplier located in Ufa / Russia (Buenos Aires for Mary) of Wax foundation will support the industry at the beginning.
 
IMPORTANT NOTE!
Agricultural farms and plantation of all kinds will get a bonus to product quality. The bonus depends on number of apiaries (fully functioning) in the city. Not only apiaries owned by player going to be taken into account but also all apiaries owned by corporation members are accounted. This works only for apiaries which have "pollination of crops" specialization. The maximum bonus for crops (product) quality is +50% +20%. Number of healthy bee colonies per 1 hectare of land is getting into account. Apiaries of corporation members have only +50% +20% effect in comparison with your own apiaries. 1 bee colony is enough to get full bonus for X hectares of land. (X depends on quality of bees)

Amazing to learn that polish bees are actually trained for division of labor - common bees don't manage to collect honey without pollination at the same time I roll!
That wouldn’t rate high on the list of oddities present in Virtonomics. I still scratch my head about the key for cattle immortality and their byproducts not being spoilt or degrading.
 
But great initiative. It’s not like everyday as a guy you get presents on 8th of March.

Many new products can be made from independent suppliers and new specializations for old products which use honey are partly replacing expensive sugar (with some penalties). We'll see after few days Well

I suspect that this will be like the beginning of any livestock: an independent supplier with 1.00 animals (in this case bees) that will be removed once the realm has enough producers. Same for the wax, natural wax is made by bees.
 
Bees > wax > beehive > more bees...
 
And the cycle of Bees continues.

We moving towards more opportunities for F2P game
 
Any game has to make money anyhow to survive (and to provide free features) but i and many others convinced that players who want to play this game totally for free should have enough opportunities.
 
For instance, cal alarm (when we discussed it with developers) should be first product made from independent suppliers in car reparing industry which going to allow new players to improve this qualification for free. I believe that all business areas / qualification should have at least one specialization which uses independent suppliers as consumables.
 
Let's hope developers listened to me and car alarm and Car alarms service will be first F2P specialization there.

The concept of high price, few buyers is a good one to self-finance a startup but eventually, it is lowering the prices and getting a larger customer base that will make revenues explode.
 
The quality should however not suffer to keep things up for the long run (why isn't this construction spammer banned yet ??)
 
I am very pleased to see so many new specialisations and i think it is a smart move to add another country so fast. This game is dedicated to economic experience,  insight and training.  Though competition is an important part it shouldn't end up with to many player being obsessed with other player's business, but instead to teach and encourage them to mind their own one really, really successfully.

Like mines and farms? Oh wait nothing free there for qualifications...
 
Also I don't care much about producing my own raw materials as much being able to buy them...
 
Reintroduce independent suppliers bauxite coca and wood, perhaps a few new ones?
 
The hilarious part about my post is I produce wood and make 100m+ a turn profit... I also produce bauxite but not enough.
 
The game devs literally killed those industries when they removed the suppliers, sure I bought mines, farms, and saw mills but I did so cheaply. Also for a turn based game some point prices are absurd (like my villa I won last year lol)

I guess I'm going to flood Spain with apiaries with that specialization. Ridiculously

If I've got it right, 8 full size apiaries (250 hives) is required to fully pollinate a 10,000 ha farm.
 
And now my question: What could be the reasoning behind the decision to prohibit constructing apiaries in Poland, Liechtenstein and Sri Lanka? (Mary)
