Evening,

I've just discovered that my holidaying animals, those wonderful inhabitants of my various farming institutions, have been forgetting to eat while relaxing, seemingly without ill effect.

I would like to suggest that, for the sake of verisimilitude, that animals should require feeding whether on holiday or not.

Animals in the sale pen need to eat too, but this is bought as needed instead of being taken from stored feed.

if animal need to feed while on holidays (as we do), who is going to feed them? I dont suppose it's realistic to set farm to a holiday mode at all. maybe it's better to charge a fee for the animals on holiday (babysitting service Well

@ Fractal: good point. I'd include that in any changes if anyone is particularly bothered by the fact that Virtonomics animals are somewhat exceptional (other, of course, than their unique virtual qualities).

As a note of clarification, I am thoroughly unoffended by this small lapse in realism, simply felt it should be mentioned considering the overarching theme of supposed realism in the game. Now we are all aware, the virtual universe is a slighlty wiser place. Whether or not anyone wishes to do anything about this anomaly is something I personally am ambivalent about.

Since workers are also on holidays, animals will travel to outside places with abundant natural supplies - thats why we don't need to feed them.

Real-life facts are, nobody will feed only grain to cows and pigs and sheep almost never get grain because its not economic. Even chicken - only a few % of their diet is grain.

If a chicken, cow, pig or sheep farm produces meat, the quantity of the life stock will reduce. Same applies to leather. The only self-renewable resources are milk, eggs and wool.

just for the record, i heard if pig dies (is butchered) in stress, the quality of the meat will be relatively low Tears

. If it dies happily, the quality of the meat will be relatively high I roll!
