hey Everyone, i was just wondering what the point in having a warehouse is?
is it possible to order stock via different countries with the warehouse?
if so would this be a cheaper way to purchase products/supplies?

When you are small a warehouse is not needed.As you grow and start having multiple factories producing or using the same goods,a warehouse becomes important.

A warehouse acts exactly like a factory, only it can store multiple kinds of raw materials/goods. Players often use warehouses to store excess raw materials, or they use it as the centre point from which all the factories supplies are bough from.

Example:

I have 5 clothing factories and I want to be able to purchase my fibres from one location for simplicities sake. So then, I take all my fibres produced in the weaving mill and transport it to the warehouse. Then my clothing factories can make purchases of fibres right from my warehouse.

BEWARE! That transportation costs are in effect when transferring to warehouses. In my opinion, use them as little as possible.

I mainly use warehouses to supply my stores. 1 warehouse for every country.

you say one warehouse per country.. but what happens if your stores in that country are selling different products? e.g one store being manufactured goods and another store being foodstuff?

can you put them both into the same warehouse? because when i open a new one it asks me to pick what you can store?

Every warehouse has specific specialization, so you can't store manufactured goods and foodstuff together.

if you are lazy, you can build warehouse, and then stock with the best prices against quality

and then, make all your store get supply from your warehouse.

I think one of the best reason to have one, despite of its great impact on top mgt is to store great amount of stocks,
and then when you see a Tender that demands such product, you won't be running out of supply and luckily can get the game points

I make things very easy on myself and almost exclusively operate in 1 department. :-)
