I'm looking to purchase more points, but it seems that it would be easy for me to spend 100's of dollars in doing so...
Would you buy points if they were discounted temporarily for the holidays? |

| The giant gap between "free" and "pay' in this game encourages players to 'Keep playing for free".The prices of Farms in particular are !0x to expensive. | |||||||

| This won't be my last post complaining about the prices of this game. I wonder if this game makes the creators any money at all. I also wonder who wants to spend $400 to do what they want in a free game. I'm generally pretty loose with my money when it comes to entertaining video games, but my average expense is $60 per 6 months per game.. Basically i'm willing to fork out $10 a month no problem... The prices in this game would have me spending more than I spend for mine and my Wife's Iphone bill. I will never be able to justify the expense of this game even though I would really like to. | |||||

| While we are here maybe someone can tell me what I am doing wrong.
I have nearly 1.7 billion in turnover each round and I have about 7.4 billion in cash. I can afford to invest in anything that I want, but my qualifications won't allow me to advance any further.. Top Manager.. is this guy different in different offices? Say I would like to further grow my business, but I can't currently because the top manager won't let me. Can I start fresh in a new city with a new top manager (of course keeping my offices in my other city)? Or is there only 1 top manager period and i'm stuck with this guy until he gets better at whatever the hell it is that he does? |

I guess admins are deaf to such complaints, and other players just live with it
But I also find the game points too expensive. I'd like to experiment some farming or wood cutting, but not at that price. |

| at the end of the day if they were to lower the price of game points, they would effectively increase sales volume which then leads to increased profits... they make a business game and go the wrong way about marketing themselves? i myself would thing about investing into game points to give the game a bit more edge.. but when your calling it over a dollar per point and the mininum farm costs like 7.. i think that it is a bit extreme.. take into consideration that a small farm isn't going to produce the resources you require.. you are going to want to upgrade it, this means thats you are then going to spend more points..
My opinion.. Lower costs = Raise profits. |

This is actually a common misconception. Why do you think wealthy players sell their products on the market for a HIGHER value than market price? The HIGHER the price, the more profit you make on each product. It's always about profit. Not always turnover or # of sales. So it really wouldn't make a much of a difference if any difference at all. Also remember this is how these game creators make money. Support them time to time. |

Profit has 2 elements. A P and a Q. If be lowering the prices with 50% the sales will increase with 300%, you will be making more profit. With the cost of points as it is now, I'm not even tempted to buy them. But I'm not sure if I will be tempted if the price was lower. So the whole question is if the sales will actually enough to increase profit. We lack the information to conclude that. All we can say is if we would buy more points if the price was higher, which many people indicate they would. Personally I think it would be good for the game if there are more businesses around. And that includes more businesses that you have to pay for with points. Many agriculture products as example are completely unavailable for a reasonable price. More farms could solve that. |

| @ Dutchsmurf: Just wondering how you gt 300% sales increase? Is there a formula? | |||||||
|
|||||
|
|||||
| There is a formula to calculate the sales increase, but you would need to know the price elasticity to use it. As I said in my previous post, we lack that information. So the 300% was just an example to show that lower prices can mean higher profit as long as the sales increase enough. | |||||
|
|||||||
|
|||||||
| Thats right, however its impossible to determine that number as you said. In a case that it does increase more than 100%, which is bizarre because I have never experienced that, @ 100% you wold still be making the same as if you kept the original price. (remember taxes as well)
But I see your point. There must be reason as to why they haven't lowered game point prices. These guys made the game, so I assume they know a thing or two about money. |

| Don't forget the price elasticity doesn't have to be the same at all points. Neither does the price/demand curve have to be a straight line. It is very much possible that at some points lowering the price will indeed increase profit. Even more with products like this that don't cost anything to make. Just because these guys made the game, doesn't have to mean they know the price for points is right.
I also don't think the price for points is the problem. It is the things you can buy with those points that are overpriced. If you calculate what some things cost in this game, it really is insane. |

| Yeah I see your point. However, I just bought a plantation for something like 30 points, and I just auctioned it off for 164 Billion. So in essence you are getting quite a bit back. Depends how you spend it, where you spend it. Points for increasing qualification is no doubt expensive. Qualification is meant to be somewhat challenging and takes time to increase, hence why it is more expensive.
And hey, there are some state enterprises that cost 1000+ game points. Maybe people buy them. I've been around this game for a while and I know that only a small percentage of users actually use this forum. So its very much possible. Since they haven't changed the price of game points... in... forever! I don't know why they would change it now. I guess it seems to be working. |
