On Tuesday, 1 Nov. 2011, we are planning to introduce some great new features to the luxury sector of Virtonomics.

1. New innovations for mansions

3 new innovations:

Scientific Coordination center ("Regional specialization" slot): the installation gives bonus for the time of research on all scientific stages and increases the possibility for success when putting forward hypotheses on the 2nd stage at all regional laboratories.

Regional Service center (slot " Other"): allows to prolong the service life of all types of equipment in regional subdivisions.

Online Center of Commerce (slot "Regional specialization"): increases growth of the available maximum of sales for all goods (on unsaturated markets) and the competitiveness of goods

2. Complete liberalization of the state market of yachts

Up until now there was a bureaucratic
limitation of yachts bought by the government: not more than a half of the total production. Because of this the market was depressed and yachts were only bought by the few countries which could get over the limitation. Now that the limitation has been canceled the state market of luxury will be able to grow naturally.

3. Regattas and pirates!

Yachts used to be sunk. Now yatchs will actually take part in world regattas, the finals of which will take place every Friday. Therefore, the mysterious "Social ranking", the rules of which are still unclear for many of you, will now depend on the results of the world regatta.

About the regatta:

The world regatta takes place every Friday among all yachts sent to take part in it within the last 30 updates. Another condition is that a yacht sent to the regatta can participate only in case it has not participated in any of the previous regattas.
The one to participate is the best yacht (according to the quality) of the mansion.
There are five stages: city, regional, national, qualification and finals.
During the city stage the contestants are the yachts sent from the city mansions. Three winners get through to the next stage. Same happens on the regional and national stages where the yachts are sent from regions and countries.
Qualification includes additional rounds for those who got through after the first three stages. Ten best yachts from each level of mansions that sent them make it to the finals.
On each stage one player can only send one yacht. For increasing your chances to win we allow to send yachts from different mansions. However, in case they take part in the same competition stage, only one of them will be able to stay in the competition (the one of better quality).
The winner is mainly determined by the yacht quality and the level of his/her mansion. The higher is the mansion level, the lower is the possibility for the yacht to withdraw from the race due to technical failures, and the higher are the chances of being faster than other yachts which are of higher quality.

After taking part in the regatta yachts sink... This means, they will be sent to yacht clubs for juniors as part of charity work

Daily lottery for the participants of regatta will also take place every Friday. The prize is one VIRT for a realm. The restriction which does not allow the same player obtain VIRTs within one day, but on different realms is NOT cancelled.

Can't find any documentation about Luxury 1.0 in Help pages, so it's not clear what changes #2 and #3 will do.

#2. This explanation must assume that the reader already has some preliminary knowledge about workings of yachts market - which, I must assume after some research, is only spread by word of mouth ?

#3. Problem solved by adding one more layer of indirection? Now we know what causes Social ranking - regatta results. Unfortunately, it's not exactly clear what causes Regatta results - personally me, I now have following questions just by reading the announcement:

- if Regatta takes place every Friday and yacht can take part in only one Regatta, then why 'last 30 updates'? (are you planning on having constant update failures on Fridays ?);
- can a barn have more than one yacht at any moment in time?
- do we get some results announced - something to get any clues why certain yachts got better results than the others? surely, if rules provide for every level of mansion, even barns, to send representatives into the finals, this must mean that they have a fighting chance, so the size of mansion can't be the main factor. Anyway, this "mainly determined" condition is too obscure - please tell if there's any randomness in there at all, or the guy with the supply of meanest ships will win it every time;
- what is the prize(s) of Regatta?

I would vote for feature #4 - some documentation, pretty please, for the sake of those very poor at reading between the lines...

Or, will the first 5 Regatta winners get the bonuses as usual and in addition there is a lottery for 1 VIRT where all participants with yachts have a winning chance? If so, could a player win the Regatta AND the VIRT?

As I understand, everybody who enters the Regatta event is also entered into lottery drawing?
In that case this could not count as a prize for winning Regatta.

Unsatisfactory answer again: those who knew what the previous prize was, will be o.k., but the potential new entrants are kept in the dark (intentionally?).

It is very obvious that the game admins do not pay as much attention to Mary realm as they did on Russian forums.
Diska replied to the questions on the next day and Jobond did it on the same day of the post - on Russian forum.

To win Regatta you should be the best--> best size, best yacht, best region/city, best places in both ratings

No. You can buy no more than 1 yacht at a time but you can send yacht as many times you want. For instance: 10 minutes ago I bought yacht at Q 7.97 from the market and sent it out ... then 5 minutes later I bought another one at Q 9.55 and sent it out and maybe tonight I will buy new one at Q 15.50 and send it out.

- if Regatta takes place every Friday and yacht can take part in only one Regatta, then why 'last 30 updates'? (are you planning on having constant update failures on Fridays ?);
Only the yacht with highest quality is participated in the world regatta. So from the above example, if tonight I send yacht Q15.5, only this yacht will be participated in regatta on next Friday - not Q7.97 or 9.55(lower quality). So these 2 yachts will be participated in the next next regatta - assuming that you send no new higher Q yacht in the future and time frame not over 30 updates from the sent day.

Top5 got strawberry +3 managment and 30 days of persnal dept (if you don't have it or have less) and that's all / 1 virt - to 1 player randomly - not directly to winner.

Did not fully understand this one. I've read on Russian forum that Villa size only influences chances of not finishing race event because of technical problems - something like, size 3 villa guarantees that there will be no technical problems (does anyone even have villas of such size ?). And, if yacht passes the technical, then her place is determined by two factors only: yacht Quality (speed) and SocialRating (kind of Qualification in Yachting).

What is best region/city ?
What is this second rating ? And probably also the followup question - how are places in that rating earned ?
For that matter, how are places in SocialRating earned - does one need to win Regatta to get any SocialRating points? Or to be in top five? Top something? How many points for any of these (want to have any idea how far behind others I am at the moment)?

In VIRT lottery, is it one entry per player or one entry per participating yacht?
Can a player see how many yachts he/she has sent at the moment, how many days ago each yacht was sent?
I assume that players will not be provided enough information to know the main reason of their success/failure (apart of technical problems) - was it purely random, or yacht was sufficiently better than competition, or Ratings blew everyone else away?

Any chance to get information on yachts market workings too ?

The places in Social ranking correspond to the places you win in the regatta, if you are the 1st in the regatta, you are the first in the Social Ranking.

What happens after the next Regatta? Are Social Rankings built from scratch every week?
So, only last week's good result in Regatta can help (slightly) to improve this week's result? And all older results have no influence at all?

Is the information from the first source about yachts market available somewhere on wiki/help/forum?
(my following questions might be answered there, if only I could find it).

What was this bureaucratic limitation preventing countries from being able to buy yachts?
What were requirements for countries in order for them to be allowed to buy some yachts?
How many yachts and how often a country was allowed to buy?
What was this limitation on buying no more than half of the total production?
Was a country allowed to buy yachts from any factory in the world or only factories in its territory?
How were countries choosing which yachts to buy - only the best ones/a bit from everyone/something else?

What are limitation now that we have Luxury 2.0 ?

Before Luxury 2.0 only about 23 yachts where bought, i think it was just a hard-coded limit? A few days ago it was more than 600 but it already decreased notably. Why is it? And, how is the purchase strategy, quality doesn't seem to be to important?

The parameters of a country influence the quantity of the yachts it can buy and their price. This parameters change in due course. The choice of what to buy usually depends on where the regattas take place, because these events make the market more active.
The stated used to only be able to buy half of the total quality of produced yachts, no this restriction is not effective.
Countries can buy yachts wherever they feel like.
